The canopy tour was ridiculously fun and it’s up there on my list of coolest things I’ve ever done along with the bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico and the helmet dive in Grand Cayman. Basically, you get to fly through the air through a rainforest so the actual ziplining is fun if you like mild adventure and the views are awesome.
If you decide to do the tour, a couple of things to note:
*There is a little bit of hiking involved so be prepared to walk - though not much. One of the ladies in my tour group struggled a bit, but everyone made it.
*There is one section of the ziplining where the tour guides bounce you up and down - if you have a bad back you should probably ask them not to bounce you.
* Definitely choose a tour that gives you the Tarzan swing and the Superman (and don't chicken out on the Tarzan swing), it's not as scary as it looks and it's worth it for the views.
* They recommend that you don't bring your own cameras as you could easily drop them and lose them forever so, of course, they offer you a CD for purchase at the end for $25. I went with the CD and was slightly disappointed that there are no views taken from the perspective of the zipliner because the views are the amazing part of the tour, but I'm still not sure it would have been better to bring my camera as I think I probably would have let it slip somewhere along the way.
In my opinion, this is a must do if you're in Costa Rica. For more info and a video of the day you can look here (though, as I mentioned, it doesn't do the experience justice since it doesn't include video from the perspective of the zipliner): http://www.catecosta.com/zipline-canopy-tour-costa-rica/
