Everything was perfect with a great choice of wines. I started of with smoked salmon then scallops and for a change there were plenty. My desert was cranacan( sorry-don't know the spelling) in a brandy basket. We then finished off with a coffee and chilled of with wine again.

Just returned from a great three night stay in one of the self catering cottages. The cottage was lovely, very cosy with a great outlook. We didnt eat out in the marina but all the staff we dealt with were really nice. The cottage was well equipped and has everything you need for your stay.

My wife and I stayed at portavadie last week for 3 days and we ate in here for 2 of our 3 nights there. Before we went in we checked the price of the food which was very reasonable and not well over priced like most places would be, as there is not many other options to go and eat at night in the area in the winter.

The food itself was very nice, we had the burger, fish and chips and it certainly did not let us down. There was an offer on if you wanted a starter, a main course and a glass of wine for only £19.50. Great value in price and the restaurant itself is really nice, after we ate we moved to the sofas next to the fire and had a few drinks. It was a very relaxing place to be and we will certainly eat here again in future when we return to portavadie.

The service was also excellent, the waiter/bar man Seamus was exceptional. He could not have done anymore for us on our 2 nights eating in here and he was very chatty and told us about some of the history of the area. Such a nice friendly guy that made you feel very welcome and relaxed.

My wife and i rate this place very highly and would definitely recommend it to anyone in that area.

We had lunch at Portavadie and can highly recommend the fish and chips - so fresh and filling. Service was excellent and very tentative and special thanks to Andrew who made up feel very welcome.
