A lovely location on the slopes of the vines just out of Bergerac. The lunchtime menus offered a great choice for all appetites. I particularly liked the salmon terrine starter and had to be careful not to fill up on the 'soupe obligatoire'!
The staff were very helpful and recommended a nice light lunchtime wine. We will certainly return.

Having been here frequently since 2010 I am amazed that the quality and service have not got any less efficient - actually it has improved. The quality is always perfect and the staff friendly, helpful and efficient. The menu changes little but thank goodness for that......exceptional prices and a place I never tire of visiting along with many of my friends. For me it is the number one restaurant for miles around. Do book though as it gets very busy. 5 courses - all really tasty - and lots of options. Bravo La Grappe d'Or

Excellent food and service with Chef/patron, Philippe, a great host. We would rarely accomodate 5 courses, however, we made an exception, (and it is well worth it) for the gastronomic experience at La Grappe d'Or. All even more enjoyable as we stayed at the owners gite across the road which has the most stunning views acros the vineyards to Bergerac.

We have eaten at La Grappe d'Or several times in the last year or so, and have invariably found it offered excellent food (the foie gras 'trio' is superb, according to my foie gras eaters!) with pleasant and efficient service, so we decided to use it for a lunch for 36 that we were organising, and it proved to be just as good for large groups as for small ones.

Philippe, the friendly and accommodating owner, produced a delicious 4 course menu, including his famous soupe de vigneron, that was greatly enjoyed by all present. The room was attractively set out when we arrived, and the service was pleasant, well-timed and unobtrusive. The pacing of the meal----something not all restaurants get right---was responsive to what the group was doing (first circulating for the apéro, then having lunch, then a speaker) so that things neither dragged nor felt rushed.

In short, Philippe and his team took care of everthing and we had a splendid meal and a delightful, relaxed gathering that was enjoyed by everyone. If you are looking for a venue for a group meeting, I can unreservedly recommend La Grappe d'Or!

I have to say that when in the area we make this a "must do". Phillipe and his team are so accommodating when it comes to eating in or on the terrace and will always make the effort to speak a few words of welcome in English when we arrive.
The food is both a gourmet's as well as a gourmand's delight although it has to be said the menu favours meat eaters! We tend to go for the set menu "Vignerons" and rise from the table after a feast of soup, rillettes and pate, duck, cheese a light dessert and coffee...phew! It is sensibly priced and a genuine taste of the regional delights of Bergerac and Perigord. Wines are sourced locally and really enhance the occasion.
I am delighted to recommend the Grappe d'Or without any hesitation.
