We had a wonderful holiday in Gageolle, our high expectations were exceeded. We stayed in the beautiful Farmhouse, which has been loving restored by Simon and Brian. Its offers the perfect conbinaton of style and comfort. We spent happy days lazing by the pool, enjoying the hot tub and the perfect tranquil gardens.

Brian and Simon gave us lots of privacy but were there if we had any questions or needed recommendatons. We wined and dined well in the local village, Issigeac offers at least 2 very good restaurants and the Sunday market is a must. Can't think of a better place to stay in Dordogne. We are looking forward to going back next year!

Gageolle is a holiday destination in itself. We did venture out a little but were more than happy to spend most of our time chilling out by the pool, reading in the shaded areas and enjoying family meals out on the beautiful covered patio. We really couldn't have asked for more. This is the perfect place for peace and quiet with lovely nearby villages and restaurants. Simon and Brian are perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful and respectful of guest privacy. We were lucky enough to over-hear Simon playing piano one evening and also proud owners of a few bits of Brians lovely pottery. Molly (the cutest boarder terrier) was also very welcoming. We had the loveliest time and will definitely return now that we have found this little gem.

Room Tip: The whole place is lovely

A second visit to La Gageolle was just as good as the first. It is a beautiful place - old farm buildings renovated with style by Simon and Brian. A lovely garden, pool and utter peace. If you are lucky you might hear Simon playing the piano - a real gift.

We have just returned from a wonderful week spent at Gageolle. The most spectacular location which is made even better by fantastic hosts - Brian, Simon and of course our holiday pup Molly! We stayed in the Gite that has been lovingly restored into a bright and modern yet cosy and romantic place. We were also given a tour of the Farmhouse which would be perfect for 4. We really are sulking to be back at home after staying in such a gorgeous place. I have also realised that I need to extend my vocabulary as I cannot think of enough adequate adjectives to describe just how perfect Gageolle is as a holiday destination. If you want a true piece of France and memories that will always have a place in your heart then book yourself in now!

Had a fabulous stay here in September 2011 in the gite for 2. The owners, Simon and Brian were really welcoming and gave us lots of local advice.

The property has been renovated beautifully, as has the adjoining farmhouse if you have a party of 4, we were given a full tour! The swimming pool is beautifully maintained - and the hot tub on a clear night is just perfect - you can even see the milky way!!

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for an away from it all break, we found it really relaxing, yet the village of Issigeac was either a 30 minute walk or 3 minute car ride away. All other attractions of the Dordogne were within easy reach by car ... if you can actually prise yourself away from Gageolle!!
