Stayed here in October last year. The b and b was clean and nicely looked after. The breakfasts were nice if a little strange - not sure about the dried tuna for breakfast but I did give it a try. I liked the fresh mixtures of juices every morning. We didn't have a car as we came on the train from Lisbon. Easily done as we changed at faro and took a local train to the town where the owner picked us up. We walked to the beach which was about 30 mins on foot but 4 in a car and generally just unwinded here. A nice stay with some nice local beach bars for dinners and cocktails in the evening.

Great place with a nice design, 2 very friendly hostesses, 2 funny sleeping dogs, a refreshing pool, and a great food consisting essentially of organic home grown food and local producers. Definitely the best breakfast and the best place of our entire stay, thank you Eglantina !

Interesting location, close to Spain, close to several beautiful beaches with not too many tourists around...

We were staying at this wonderful spot for one week and experienced a week of pleasure. It is not realy a hotel it is more like a friends home. The rooms are large, clean and well maintained. The interior is well designed and contemporary. There are really nice beaches not fare away, however the hotel is located fare away enaugh from the crowded touristic centres of the Algarve. They have a nice pool, too. There is a comunity house, opened 24h daily with lounge, honesty bar and library. Don´t miss the excelent homemade food for dinner, which is offered on two or three days of the week. Conclusion: if you are up to a luxury hotel with international 5star service do not go there - but if you want to experience a down-to-earth individual, charming vacation with a very personal service there is probably nothing better on the Algarve.

We have spent a wonderful week at CdC with our two and a half year-old son and we were extremely happy with this hotel. This is a very peaceful and quiet place, like some elegant oasis in the middle of nowhere.
This old olive oil mill has been renovated with taste and equipped with some original pieces of 20th century architecture. There is a convenient salt-water pool, a shady loggia and a beautifully designed court with some small tables and chairs, one under a bushy fig tree.

Our mezzanine room was not very spacious and, compared to the stylish photos on their website, a little bit disappointing when it comes to materials and design. It's got its very own (rustic) charm, but it stays a rather simple lodging. Especially the bathroom was pretty narrow and not very practical for three people. So, next time, we would probable chose another room.

The rich breakfast was probably one of the best we ever had in a hotel - every morning there was another mouth-watering variety of local organic products; fresh fruit juices, algarvian bread, tomatoes and local cheese - a real feast even for culinary experienced people like us.

Both the charismatic portuguese owner Eglantina and her spanish assistant (Sivia?) were very kind and helpful and fond of children. We appreciated the very helpful brochure with some useful tips for restaurants and beaches. We especially like the "Cha com agua salada" at Manta Roja Beach - an excellent choice for seafood lovers.

Overall, this is a highly recommendable place and we are already missing it.

We arrived from Lisbon (approx. 330 km by car, during a hot high-summer heat. The only thing we had in mind was running to the pool, really) Then, surprise: nobody was there to receive us. We finally reach the owner on the phone so she could call someone to receive us. We finally enter on the site, a women was there but did not know who we were and that we had a reservation. She spoke to us in spanish (she did not speak portuguese (not a word) and, for us (a portuguese couple) this was not a good start). Then the problems starts:
She told us that they give our room to the couple who was there previously because they miss their flight (which we were not responsible for!) She then offer us another room (which was not available when we ask for it 3 weeks earlier... quite a mystery) After a short look to the room, we were not quite happy with the room, so she offered us a bigger room BUT for one night only. She said only one night because another couple had make a reservation for it for the night after.
In my opinion; if the first couple took our room due to a missed flight, we could logically take the third couple room's for the same reason (if I follow the same rule...)

Finally, when we decide to stay in the smaller room to avoid a unpack - pack and finally unpack circus, we realized that the room they offer was not ready at all. No towels, no bathroom necessaries, no informations book (which contain all the informations about the hotel; nearby restaurants, security code to enter, best beaches, activities, important phone numbers, etc.)

I am tired just to write down our story as you are just to read it, I apologize for that.

Long story short: They forgot our arrival and did not (or try to) repair the failure it is an unforgettable mistake in my point of view. Especially if you have a small Bed & Breakfast and only 7 rooms to manage!

They could (at least) offer us the coffees we consumed (6 in 3 days) 1euro each. No...! The lady (the owner I believe) ask for it/ to be paid apart (not included in the total... for an ignored reason) / AND in cash please (!) This awkward bill scene was really unnecessary to our annual (quite precious) vacations!

Anyway. I stay with a bitter taste.
