Came here for Mother's Day as we love the food here it's so fresh and there is a good variety of choice. On Mothering Sunday we had Sunday dinner as its traditional to have a roast on a Sunday and me and my partner think it's the best Sunday dinner around! It was very busy on Mother's Day which just shows how good the food is at great value for money Will definitely be back!

We saw an advert for a Valentines Day special - £35 for a 3 course meal plus a bottle of wine for 2 people
We both had lamb shank which was quite superb. My husband cannot eat sweet things so they very happily made him a fruit alternative
The waiter was great - a local man who was very engaging with everyone present and made the evening very special without being intrusive
2 people at the table next door to us did not have the Special and the waiter apologized to them that they had were paying more because they had chosen a la carte - waiters never apologise for prices!!
Altogether a very good evening out and excellent value for money - we even took the bottle of wine away with us as one was driving - perfect!

We only called in for hot drinks but ended up staying for a couple of hours.
A lovely roaring fire and very friendly staff. We didn't eat but looking at the food of other customers, it looked delicious.

After battling a head wind, with sleet and snow we reached the FBI. A blazing fire welcomed us and a rather silent Landlord who served our drinks and then took our food order - we all had the Fish and Chips - The fish was cooked to perfection with a nice thin batter. The beer was in good condition, Black Sheep bitter being the only cask on offer. After the meal the Landlord came over and started telling us tales of his experiences with customers, like the one lady who asked what the soup was 'Tomato' was the reply 'And what is in that' came the retort. He admits to having an unusual sense of humour! (keeping us entertained for 30min or so).
re the no dogs policy, he has erected a good shelter for them outside the pub.
Two of us re visited the next day and he was back to being the silent type! Would we revisit? Yes -we like the unexpected! Oh and Margret (landlady) was as nice a person as one could meet

We stayed in Boulmer for a short break over the Feb half term. We had had the Fishing Boat Inn recommended to us. We called in for a meal on the Friday evening (15th). The Valentine's menu was available and only a limited amount of meals from the main menu. However, the selection available was still varied. We plumped for the Valentine's special £35 for two including a bottle of wine. Our daughter had choices from the "other" menu. The lamb shank was cooked to perfection and fell off the bone (even though this choice was made from the normal menu it was also available on the Valentines menu). The other choices made were Chicken in white wine, tarragon and mushroom sauce - delicious and Salmon - which was raved about for some time afterwards!

The Bar staff were really friendly - as were the locals/regulars. There was a really welcoming atmosphere in the pub. As mentioned above, the food was delicious. We would definitely recommend it. The next time we're in the area we'll definitely patronise it again.
