This is a very pleasant resort located right on the ocean in the less touristed eastern coastal area south of Prachuap Khiri Khan. As pointed out by previous reviewers, the beach here is not suitable for swimming, but there is a sandy beach with lots of shells adjacent to the property an easy walk of a couple of hundred yards away (a few miles farther down the coast we found wide long stretches of deserted beautiful white sand beach).
We had a room in one of the pool side bungalows and found it to be spacious, clean and comfortable. The room had effective A/C, satellite TV and a mini fridge. The bath was equipped with a hot and powerful shower and surprisingly an attached outdoor shower as well (not used). The grounds were well kept and attractive with great views of the sea. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the resort's restaurant served a good variety of tasty Thai dishes. The included buffet breakfast was adequate but could be improved by the inclusion of freshly brewed coffee instead of the instant that is supplied. Recommended.

Room Tip: There are cheaper rooms available, but for only a few baht more, opt for one of the pool side bungal...

The resort is located at a beach which is not really suitable for swimming, as the name says it's very rocky. Also we found it to be littered with trash which was probably swept on by the tide and there were still remains of New Year fireworks being left on the beach. In the interest of their guests, they should clear up the beach in the mornings. But a more sandy beach is just a short drive away. The rooms are quite large and clean with a nice terrace to sit outside and a comfortable bed. Bathroom was clean and all was in order. Aircon was cool and quiet.
In general the resort is quite OK, however we had a few disappointments. Firstly the pool was closed for maintenance which was really regrettable. But the main issue was some strange, rumbling noise at night which kept us awake and totally spoiled our one night we stayed there. Furthermore the lights around the resort are quite bright and the curtains don't really help to keep the light out so the room was not really dark which made it even more difficult to fall asleep.
Breakfast buffet selection is very limited.
Overall we found the price quite steep for what is offered.

Room Tip: Check for noise in the room!

What a gem, lovely poolside Bungalows, they are worth the upgrade, perfect rooms, I could have stayed a month, food was a bit scarce but the location, staff, quality of the room made everything else pale into insignificance, the pool is fantastic and a great place for a get away.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a poolside bungalow

If you want a peacful holiday that is not too far from some of the bigger resots then Rocky Point is the place for you. The food is excellent and freshly prepared with local produce. My husband and I were there last three weeks. I would say “Rock Point Resort is a great place to stay and suitable for getting away from it all. All staff at Rocky Point was so friendly and helpful. We love their services and variety of food served in a pleasant atmosphere dining room located in front of the resort. Swimming pool is beautiful and clean. We love that. We will surely go back there in the near future.
