We really enjoyed this beautiful place, both the ride in on the boat and the beautiful floating rafts. Our lodge was clean, comfortable, and relatively spacious. The flowers on all the rafts made the place special. We were really impressed with the use of local materials and the attempt to keep the natural settings. Reading on a hammock is a very nice way to spend a few hours in the afternoon. Food was fine and tasty. Locals put on a little show in the evening to share songs and dances from their culture. The dancing of the children was especially enjoyable. Sounds of the water lull you to sleep but when the currents change, you may wake up and wonder what is happening. Feeding the elephants and watching them bathe was a fun thing to do after breakfast. If you have time in the afternoon, walk up the hill to the local village to see the school and to experience the community. Many of the people at the lodge spent the afternoon floating in the river.
We found this trip to be a very special component of our time in Thailand and it was a very nice place to relax after the day hiking at Erawan Waterfall. The ride in on to Nam Tok on the Burma Railway was really special.More
