This was one of the most unique hotel experiences I've ever had. The entire hotel is on pontoons and the river flows under your room - you can hear it and see it.

When you get dropped off at the "pier" and I use that word loosely, you might be slightly scared about what you are getting yourself into. But the longtail boats scoot you off and drop you right at this paradise on the river. The ride up and down the river is almost as wonderful as the stay itself.

The property is immaculate and made from absolutely stunning teak planks and thatched Roofs. The room was spacious, the bathroom was full plumbing and there is even air-conditioning (a lot of the floating hotels do not have power). The floating front deck on each room has its own swing bench which allows you to truly take in the scenery. There are only 12 rooms so it is very quiet and quaint. There is NO partying here - but I went as a single person and truly loved it.

The service from the minute I arrived to the minute I left was 5-star all the way. Sumat - it seemed - was assigned to me and he was both no where and everywhere at the same time. He would serve a need of mine before I even realized it was a need - yet he was never in the way.

I highly recommend doing 2 nights here and doing the full board package. There was so much wonderful food and by doing the board package, you just show up for meals and the food appears. You tell them your likes and dislikes and they cater a menu to you. (I have many food allergies and they were really atune to helping me stay healthy).

BRING DEET. You are in the jungle and the ants are worse than the mosquitos.

one important thing - it was VERY hard to get a reservation here. I had to wait until I was actually in Thailand to have someone in Bangkok call them as no one returned my repeated attempts to contact them via email. While frustrating and a little nerve-racking - it was worth it.

Room tip: There is no bad room. The professional pictures on the hotel website are EXACT. No exaggeration.

stayed for 7 nights. the staff were amazing the hotel is very clean the rooms are fantastic and the food is very good. there is a small village and crafts centre on land behind hotel whitch is reachable via a walkway. any trips that you want to book is all done by the stafff at recieption and is done with the minimum of hassle (no hard sell) its fantastic just to chill out on your own part of the floating decking in front of your room and watch the world go by. would advise you to choose this hotel as it is just great and when back in this area would definatley stay there again.

Room tip: room 1a is fantastic its at the end of the walkway with unrestricted views

Stayed for 6 nights. The trip along the river in a longtail from Pakseng Pier was a delight with anticpation building. Coming around the bend and seeing the Floathouse was amazing.
Great staff including Suwat who was a star- nothing was a trouble, he was always there to greet us, serve us, ever pleasant and jovial.
Beautiful room. Comfortable bed with good bedding. Nice amentities. Plenty of seating inside and outside villa. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the world (or the floaters and longtails) go by.
Housekeeping was done efficiently and quickly.
Plenty of TV stations, DVD player. Wifi worked well in the room.
Food was excellent. Breakfast had the usual buffet fare including a cook to order egg station.
Others meals were some of the best we'd had anywhere in Thailand. The prices were cheap in comparision with other hotels/resorts.
We enjoyed the isolation after 5 weeks travelling in Thailand. Remember that there isn't a convenience store nearby and to take all extras that you require.
Insects weren't a problem because we used repellent and room spray in the evenings.

Room tip: All rooms are the same just at different distances from the restaurant.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Floathouse. We were there for River Kwai Half-marathon race. Once we figured out that we had to get there via long-tail boat from their Rosotel pier, it was a great stay. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. We had to have two rooms as my kids are consider "adults" - this is an annoying part of traveling in Asia. At any rate, we purchase set menu for dinners and that was nice because the food was ready when we showed up at reserved dining time. Food was good. We were caught in a few downpours and our room stayed very dry. Would definitely visit again.

Room tip: We had a room next to the dining area and could hear music in our room. This may not be the silence that you have hoped to enjoy. This was 3B, I believe. Although the staff said they could turn music off, it is on for breakfast, lunch and dinner times (up to 10PM).

Incredible atmosphere with great view offers this floating resort.
We really enjoyed this place most of the time.
Despite some rain, its luxurious natural decoration with bamboo made
us feel calm and relaxed.

We also tried Thai massage and Thai food. Both were terrific!

Also, the staffs are friendly and speak English very well.

So, we did have a great experience in the middle of the jungle.

Although it was our first trip in Kanchanaburi, we’ll be sure to come
back again to this amazing experience.
