The One Hotel is situated on the main road between Nong Khai and Nakhon Phanom,so easy to find.....just look out for the signs for Tesco Lotus which is next door to the hotel.
Its quite a new hotel and the rooms are excellent, with everything working fine. There is also a nice swimming pool and gym at the side of the hotel with a cafe area there where you can order food and drinks.
The restaurant at the hotel served some really tasty food.We had both lunch and an evening meal there during our stay and both the Thai and Western food was delicious.
Breakfast is included in the price. Its mainly for the Thais but a westerner can have cereal, sausage and egg, toast and jam, tea, coffee, fruit juice etc.
As well as being tasty the restaurant food and drink is very cheap for a hotel of this standard.
Examples of western food are Fish and Chips (100 baht),Spaghetti Bolognese/Carbonara (120 baht) American Club Sandwich with French Fries (100 baht) plus a large Leo beer will knock you back just 60 baht !
The staff were very friendly and helpful and several of them spoke good English.
The hotel is just 1 kilometre from the centre of Beung Kan which is very quiet.A few foodstalls on the riverside promenade and some Thai restaurants dotted about. The Mekhong seemed a good distance from the promenade, even though the rainy season has now started, but nice for a quiet stroll in the evening.
Other eating options in the area would be KFC,MK and S&P at Tesco Lotus next to the hotel.
A good day trip out is to Wat Phu Tok about 50 kilometres away via Si Wilai. It has nice grounds and a small lake but the highlight is a high outcrop of rock that you can climb via a series of wooden steps built into the hillside. There are 6 stages of steps and 1 more that involves scrambling up to the top of the cliff. There are Buddah images inside a cave around two thirds of the way up.The steps are certainly easier to climb up than come down as they are designed for smaller Orientals not Westerners but the trip is worth it for the overall area and, also, even if you just climb part way up.
But I would say that The One Hotel is ideal for those who just want a chilled out relaxing break for a few days.

Room tip: We had the Superior room which was more than adequate. The hotel also has a few Deluxe rooms and a suite,if you want to splash the cash.

I think it is the best hotel in Bueng Kan City. Rooms are very clean and spacious with cable TV, air condition and a large shower. The quality finish is not as European one but it is good enough. In the hotel you can also find a swimming pool with the bar where you can enjoy a beer.
The hotel is situated 10min driving by tuk tuk to the city centre along Mekong River where there are plenty of restaurants without English menu. It was very difficult to order anything.
In the hotel we had dinner and breakfast. Dinner was good Thai food but breakfast I did not find it good. We had chicken fried rice, noodles, and so on. It was like a dinner.
I would recommend that hotel for business and family travel.

Beautiful, first class hotel with all the amenities. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Would have preferred some Western options at the breakfasts each morning, but the fresh juices were delicious. Hotel pool was very nice, with a small tiki bar open some evenings. There is a Tesco grocery store just across the parking lot that has anything at all you might need. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, definitely would visit again!
