“An ode to a much beloved lady!”
Reviewed December 7, 2013 via mobile

The royal villa was the princes's mother house when she became to frail to travel abroad. Seeing what she achieved in Doi Tung makes you wonder how much more could have been achieved if she had come here earlier! It is maintained in pristine condition. I found the staff abrupt in some respect but I guess that's the way they have to be if they want visitors to behave. The staff at the Doi Tung lifestyle shop are much warmer and genuine. If you visit Northern Thailand, it is definitely worth a trip

Took one hour to get here by taxi, was nice, gardens were pretty and views were really nice but not sure if it was worth the long drive.

“Thailand with a Swiss twist”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

The Royal Villa is well worth a visit. Surrounded by manicured floral gardens, the villa is a magnificent blend of Swiss chalet and Lanna style architecture. The peaceful atmosphere lends a great deal to the story behind this beautiful house. Time for this section, one hour maximum.

While you are here, make sure you see the Mae Fah Luang gardens and The Hall of Inspiration, for which you could take up to two more hours (stopping for refreshments!)

“Royal serenity”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

A lovely swiss cottage style Royal home of unbelievably modest form near Chaing Rai is a must see. Coupled to this beautiful area is the Royal beautiful botanic garden it is worth the effort. The only downside is that every coach party imaginable manages to get up to the top of this mountain hideaway. Coffee beans sold on the stalls is cheaper in the Airport!!

“Beautiful villa, beautiful views”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

The villa is lovely and you can see the entire region from the lookouts. It's a great way to learn about Doi Tung and the great work they do.
