Uthai River Lake Resort was used as our first stop-over on our descent of the Chao Phraya River by kayak from Nakhon Sawan to Samut Prakan. The resort could be reached by kayak via the lake but takes 63 Km. As we found 50+ kilometers paddling enough for one day, we requested the resort manager to pick us up at the landing of Wat Hat Thanong. This was organized promptly and timely by the management.

We got a twin bungalow with terrace and view over the lake. The resort was badly hit by the giant flooding in 2011 and gardens as rooms were done over again. The accommodation is spread over a lush garden with a nice small swimming pool.

The rooms were large and comfortable with air-conditioning, satellite television and filled refrigerator. The bathroom had a shower corner separated from the toilet and wash table.

The service was very friendly and well. For a Saturday, it was rather quiet at the resort; but as it is situated in no where's-land, this might be its charm. Here you can destress and find rest within a bit of nature. The resorts offers bikes and kayaks for the sporty people.

We enjoyed the incoming darkness with a cool drink at the lake. There is a night guard on the premises, who cared very well. Diner was not a real 5-star degustation, but quite fair. Breakfast was the classic two eggs and Thai sausages on a salad leaf accompanied by a slice of tomato, toast, coffee and orange juice.

The price of the accommodation might be a bit high, but we can understand it after the flood touched this place.

We went there recently and our family enjoy our stay. The view from the resort overlooking the lake is stunning, a real relaxing breakaway from Bangkok.
