“Excellent in all respects!”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

Attended a Christmas party night on Sat 8th, and stayed over. What a gorgeous, welcoming place! The interior has been restored to a high standard, and it creates a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were really friendly, and cheery! Food and service at the party night was excellent. The food was hot, fresh and very good quality! The Inn has about 11 rooms, and these are chalet style in a separate building behind the Inn. Our room was room 9, and it was spotlessly clean, nice, new decor and furniture. The power shower was also fab! It was superb value at £40 B&B for both of us. Breakfast was really enjoyable too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and wish this Inn every success as they definetely deserve it, and seem to have their business model just right!!

What a chef! Wherever the village inn got their head chef from, they were very lucky. Her skills are akin to many top restaurants which I have attended in major cities - and in a little village in north yorkshire! The food really is excellent -and it doesn't break the bank. We will return time and time again, I am sure!
Thanks.

Brilliant pub. it hass a touch of class which Northallerton pubs lack. Its only downfall is its location, although this doesn't stop people travelling to visit it. Always packed out on a Sunday night when i've gone to the popular quiz nights.
As for the food, my parents have had a meal there, they said it was excellent quality and due to a mix up of communication when booking the table, they got a complimentary bottle of wine so they were happy.
Also, my football team use the Village Inn weekly as their sponsored pub for post match food. It is of the highest quality and all the away team we play, always want to come back to our pub as they know they'll be fed well.

All in all, brilliant renovation from previous and i've heard the hotel side of it is also great.

We stayed for one night on 24th November. The room was lovely, great value for money. We ate in the restaurant, the food & the service were very good. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We had my Mum with us (she also stayed in a double room but was charged less for it as she was on her own) & she couldn't manage the stairs up to the breakfast room. The staff set a table for us in the downstairs restaurant without any fuss being made. We will definately stay here again the next time that we are in Yorkshire & for longer than 1 night.

We are exacting travellers and our work is all about customer service training and general communication skills - we know what we want to receive! Added to this I trained in Hotel work and had an award winning restaurant in the '80s so I know general catering and food too . . . this place is Good.
Very friendly and helpful staff, good quality food well cooked, clean and fresh accommodation. Thank you.

Had a weekend at The Village Inn, myself and my cousin were visiting family and what a lovely place to stay. Well equipped, comfortable room with all the things you expect from a good hotel.
The restaurant is wonderful, we had a family gathering there on two occasions and both were excellent - food great and not overpriced. It's a long way from Essex to North Yorkshire but it was well worth the trip. We did'nt have a car so we used the local services and that was very good
with drivers of buses becoming friends in a matter of minutes. Great time had - would love to go back given the opportunity. Well done - staff very obliging and know their stuff.

Room Tip: all rooms are on ground level - an annex across from the main building
