We had a dinner to celebrate a colleague leaving, an overnight stay and an all day conference. Everything lived upto or exceeded my expectations. The dinner was served in a special room and was really top quality. The service was attentive but not intrusive. There was no room for improvement. My overnight accomodation was also superb, comfortable, clean and a really big shower cubicle. Then the business meeting, on the following day, with colleagues in another room was comfortable. The staff were attentive with regular refreshments and hot drinks, and the room was comfortable and quiet. The management and staff can be very proud. Thanks to all.

Spent a day at the races & stayed the night for convenience purposes. Was great! Room overlooked the track but even though it was freezing we still braved it out to the Tote. Loved the rotating TV stand so you could watch TV in bed or chilling on the sofa. I nearly always judge a room by it's shower & the one in our room was really good.

My only gripe would be that we still had to pay to get into the races. Surely resident ought to get at least a discount of some sort?!?!?!

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a junior suite, about £40 but worth it! They're corner suites, have floor to ceiling windows all around.

11 in our party away for birthday weekend age 5 to 50
Efficient friendly staff.
Lovely comfortable rooms with full length windows overlooking race track,
Very good bar serving cocktails by very efficient bar man.
Amazing food in restaurant 5 star quality catered for all - better choice on the al a carte menu than the set menu.
Breakfast very good choice the chef even cooked up special order pancakes for my 9 yr old niece who was delighted with the chocolate sauce and sprinkles - awesome !!
Only gripe the male receptionist at spa not the friendliest and the spa jacuzzi not working the water boiling and dangerous there was a sign explaining temperature however a word of warning from the receptionist would have been advisable or emptying it a safer option with small children about.
All in all fantastic location overlooking racecourse and the perfect stay for a day at the races.

Stayed for a couple of nights in mid December and had a standard 1st floor room opening out onto the racecourse. Whilst not racing followers, we found the view delightful especially on the Saturday when there was a meeting (most weekends). The room was a good size and tastefully furnished, and the bed was probably a super king size. The bathroom was not overly generous in size but well equipped and in good condition. Whilst the hotel is under the Gatwick flight path, you wouldn't know it because of excellent sound insulation on the building and windows; however the door to the corridor is another matter, with quite poor insulation and the result that you can hear quite a bit of noise from people returning to their rooms. The only other oddity was the fact that our wardrobe only had 2 coat hangers (of the non-removable type). Everything else in the room was as you would expect from this type of hotel.

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which wasn't very busy and the menu was quite imaginative. Pricing was at the higher end of the spectrum while portions were modest but well presented. The service was not overally quick which is OK when on holiday, and the waiter certainly tried his best.

Breakfast was served in the larger trackside room on the second floor, overlooking the racecourse. Apparently, this is used when the hotel is busier. The view is great, breakfast selection excellent, however it was let down by insufficient staffing to tidy tables and serve tea and coffee. It would be much more practical if they had tea and coffee self service, like the rest of the breakfast.

We made very good use of the swimming pool facilities. The pool is just about large enough to swim gently if there are 4 people or less, which was most of the time. There is a jacuzzi, sauna and a steam room, all very pleasant and generally quiet. There is also a well equipped gym, but we didn't use it.

I was very much looking forward to a spa day and treatments with my mum. On arrival we went to the Spa reception. The receptionist was on the phone and didn't even acknowledge us. We continued to wait and then a poorly presented 2nd receptionist arrived. We gave the name and she said our treatments were booked for 2pm. She showed us around and let us use the facility.
I changed and went towards to pool to find water dripping through. Light fitting. I told. Member of the team. Her response......... Oh god not again!
I walked onto poolside and the smell of combined chlorine was very strong. The spa was covered in foam. I decided to avoid it and just use the pool. The scum line around the pool was filthy , orange build up on blue tiles. Worse was the clear lack of pool hover , I was so disgusted I got out and took photos. Brown stains running on the poolside walls and air vent blocked with dirt. We decided to go to the relaxation room. All 3 beds were on use, we then went to wait for 2pm treatments. A panicked beautician came out and asked why we were waiting. She said hey had a new system and it was chaos. The treatments had been mixed up and now our treatments were an hour apart..... This is not what was booked! I returned to wait and try to relax on poolside. This was a mistake as 3 work men arrived to remove the glass door. It is impossible to relax with ths going on. Worse was the outside shoes they wore onto poolside. All in all an awful experience and we could not leave quick enough.
