Bothwell Castle
Visited on a Saturday, the surrounding area is lovely great walks for dog (oops left ours at home). The castle itself is very interesting, the person in the shop gave a brief and interesting talk on the history and there are guides and books to buy. Worth going inside if you are interested in castle or history. Be aware that the steep spiral stairs can be very slippery and the ground inside can be boggy.

We drove about 30 miles to see the castle, (from Pollock House) quite impressive from the outside but the gates were shut, the car park occupied by dog walkers and walkers enjoying the sunshine of an early October day.
Not a Notice visible - not a soul visible through the gate, just a bit of scaffoling to be seen. We live 300 miles away so I fear we will not get back again.
