The Twilight visit to Tane Mahuta and Te Matua Ngahere is an inspirational and spiritual experience. We were privileged to be Guided by Wiremu and Merepaia who provided an authentic Māori experience. They weaved karakia (prayer), waiata (song, pakiwaitara (legends) and Māori ancestral knowledge into our 4 hour tour. Thank you so much for the privilege of visiting Tane Mahuta and Te Matua Ngahere with you. We collectively felt that we were 'changed' people after our experience. Mauri ora.

I have done the tour before and have raved about it, and returned to share it with my new partner. She was blown away. It is a trip full of heart - not just about seeing things, but feeling and experiencing them. Bill was a fabulous guide, and shared the Maori story of this magnificent forest. The singing, the praying, seeing the stars through the giant trees of this forest. Mangificent!

A special treat was seeing a giant Kauri snail - night stalkers and carnivorous.

We went back into the forest during the day by ourselves which was another experience, but made all the richer for having walked the Footprints the night before.

We loved this trip. Wonderful to be able to walk in the forest in the fading light, to see the extraordinary Kauri trees and be guided in recognising, among other things, the calls of native birds. The guides were knowledgable, friendly and professional. They put a special effort into making each guest feel welcome and comfortable, addressing each of us by name, making our stories part of the experience. Their respect and passion for the wildlife and the sacred places we visited just shone through. A great trip, thanks very much to the hardworking team at Footprints Waipoua. Marlies & Donna

I really enjoyed this trip. It was a great way to see some nature, hear some wonderful stories and learn a little about another culture. The guides were all lovely people and we were picked up and dropped off to our hostel with no problems. I would certainly recommend the experience if in the area as it was insightful but also fun. Loved the singing.

We were picked up from the van park and visited the Kauri forest with two guides. You can only describe the experience as very very good. Well worth the money and would recommended it to everyone. Went back the next day to get photos because you aren't really allowed to take them at night. The tree in the photos is only a very short walk into the forest and the photos do not do it justice for its size.
