“Best place to eat what ever your pocket”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

We have enjoyed some fantastic food at this restaurant/pub. The choice is extensive from Fish and Chips to true fine dining. They have thought of everybody , children , businessmen, the family , couples and the gourmets. Open allday every day you can have breakfast, lunch, highteas and dinner. Excellent atmosphere.Very friendly staff.

“good but on expensive side”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

called on chance for a sunday lunch, but although it was good I thought for a village inn this was rather on the expensive side ,more so than other inns in the area.
The staff were all smart and tidy and the premises warm and clean. The one thing I didnt like was when I went to pay by visa the machine was set to pay or not to pay a gratuity.

“Rescued by the manageress”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

We booked a table in the bar Saturday night as in the past it had been very busy.
Not this time though although there were more eating in the restaurant.
We were served quickly and in a friendly manner.
Starters where fine and 3 of us ordered Rib eyes as in the past served on a wooden platter they had been excellent.
Our steaks arrived on a plate without the bernaise sauce, which we didnt get.
The steaks where thin and much smaller than in the past, the meat was broiled, wasnt sure if it was the chefs fault or the quality of the meat.
On the conclusion of the meal we where asked, I presume by the manageress If we where happy with the food at this we complained and she gallantly offered to make ammends to which she did.Thank you for this gesture but PLEASE go back to serving your steaks the way they where, the rib eyes where to die for.

“Great menu”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

There was a varied, imaginative menu with good portions, well presented. The 16 people in our group selected a variety of dishes which all arrived hot. Next time I might try the pigs trotters - if I feel brave enough.

“Very rude waitress!”
Reviewed September 26, 2012 via mobile

The food was quite good, although the portions were a little on the small side. After very slow service, which we have experienced at this restaurant before, the evening was ruined by one waitress who was very rude, blunt and would clearly much rather have been somewhere else!
