I booked the Oak Tree Inn by chance as I had a late change of business arrangements and I am glad I did.
The place has been tastefully refurbished and extended to a high standard and the staff were very welcoming and could not do more for me, they have a good selection of ales / lager available and the wine list looked very interesting.
Most of the food available is from local produce and looked good, they had a Mexican evening going on during my one night stay but I chose to have the local Rib Eye Steak etc which was good and the table service was very attentive.
My room was very comfortable and well appointed with complementary ‘Yorkie’ bar and as mentioned by another reviewer the head height in the shower over the bath is on the low side and anyone over 6ft needs to be careful. (a minor point compared with all the positives).

I would stay at The Oak Tree Inn again any time I am travelling in that area and would recommend it for both business and pleasure.

Another great stay in a different room, the Walnut this time. Lovely comfy bed, quaint room, great decor, plenty of storage and a great ensuite. Do be careful though if you're 6 foot or over you'll struggle with the shower as its over the bath with a low ceiling height, but not the end of the world. See you again shortly.

This is the second time we have stayed here and everything was still brilliant. The rooms are very nicely furnished with a lovely bathroom, including whirlpool bath. There is a kettle with a vast selection of hot beverages including a cafatiere and posh coffee! Breakfast was delicious and the evening meal was even better. The food is outstanding and worth every penny. The staff are all pleasant and helpful and we will continue to stay here for years to come. Highly reccomend.

My husband & I spent 3 nights here & had the most amazing time. Pure luxury - from the comfortable beds to the toiletries to the little extras (Yorkie bars)! The meals were all beautifully prepared from breakfast through to evening meals. Would have no hesitation in going back!

We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary and what a lovely stay. The room was perfect, the food was divine and beautifully presented but not massive portions. The staff were great and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in, although they did persuade us to drink too many cocktails after dinner! It isn't cheap but we felt that £200 for B&B and a lovely 3 course dinner with plenty of drinks was good value. So good that we're going back for our anniversary next year and plan to make it a regular stay.

A little gem in a quiet yorkshire village, a quality pub with 6 rooms and an excellent restaurant. Room was excellent and everything to a high standard.
The only downside because of the high quality of the food, atmosphere and popularity the service was a little slow and portions were not huge but food was tasty but i wish i could have a public house on my doorstep that could match it.

would i again, probably yes
