“Fantastic weekend !”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

Just returned from a weekend at The Oak Inn. Exceptional service from Chris and all the staff - dinner on the Friday night excellent followed by a super night in the private dining room with 16 of our friends. Food, wine, rooms & staff outstanding. Big thankyou to all at The Oak !

Room Tip: All rooms very good and all of a similar size - we stayed in 'Lime' - lovely large beds and...

Excellent on all criteria - this is a superb 'pub with rooms' we had the oak room which was amazing, food was great, breakfast was brilliant - especially considering there were only 4 people staying - could not recommend it highly enough

Stayed one night, and found the room very comfortable, very nice bed. Felt it was more "hotelly" than a country pub, but has been very well refurbed, and we liked the Yorkie bar instead of biscuits in the room!! The evening meal and breakfast were both excellent and the service also couldnt be faulted. A nice place to stay - recommended.

Room Tip: We were in a room right above the front door of the pub, so some late night leaving noise, but nothi...

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago for two nights. It is hard to fault in any way. Rooms great with everything you need. Big comfy beds, great bathroom including jacuzzi bath plus separate shower cubicle. A friendly young staff who could not have been more accommodating. Food excellent especially the fish platter which you need a hearty appetite to tackle if you want to get through it. Will be returning soon I hope

We only live 20 miles from the Oak Tree, so today took advantage of the Friday Special in this lovely pub - huge portions of beautifully presented fish and chips. It comes with bread and butter, for the bargain basement price of £5. It's as good as in restaurants that charge three times the price. We sat by a cosy log fire, service was excellent, and we felt really lucky to be there.

Visited for a meal on Saturday evening. The bar and restaurant areas had a really nice vibrant buzz and the staff were very attentive, having a good balance of friendliness and efficiency. We had a starter and main course, which were very filling so couldn't manage a dessert. Overall food very good. As a vegetarian I found the starter menu impressive but the main choices a little limiting.
