“I loved it”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We had a great guide, who spoke perfect English. It was very interesting, we found out a lot of interesting things. As he sais- it is the only abbey in Belgium which still has monks living in it. There is a pottery workshop nearby and a degustation of Maredsous beer at the end of the trip, was just perfect.

“Excellent beer, a good outing for a fall day.”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

It's very nice to wander the grounds and then return to drink a fresh beer at the abbey. We went on a weekend, so it was a little crowded in the eating area, but the grounds are big enough to really take time wandering and enjoy.

“Environment is nice, rest is average”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

The area is beautiful. However the tourist offering makes it loose it's real beauty and value. When you know that all of the "Maredsous" food is made elsewhere (although it is good !!), then you realise you're just visiting another tourist setup

“Great beer, cheese, bread, ham.”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

Beautiful surroundings and great food. The buildings are all quite lovely and it seemed remarkably uncrowded. The drive to the abbey takes you through a most scenic region. It is well worth the time it takes to get there.
