“Cute and local”

Used to love everything about CGK but they've started slipping recently. Perhaps strung too thin from all three locations? Regardless, the food is almost always delicious and the take away casseroles and dips are great...except for the rancid macaroni and cheese that gave me food poisoning. .

“Tattoo lady at the bar was more than RUDE”
Reviewed April 5, 2013 via mobile

Run, don't walk away from this place. The food was ok, but the tattooed lady at the bar was just not nice to anyone. Maybe a bad day?

Thanks for your brief note-- could have been a bad day!! Waiting tables is one of the hardest jobs in the business but I have forwarded your comments on to the server. She is normally everyone's favorite!

“Used to be average now simply worse”
Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

We visit rosemary four or five times a year and try to eat or drink at all of the restaurants. Cowgirl Kitchen has always been disappointing in terms of service - mainly due to a tiny kitchen and ability to make one pizza at a time. The fact is this isn't Chez Paul, it isn't worth the wait, and recent changes to the layout make it worse.

This place caters to to-go orders; if you are eating there you're last. Walk up orders for a drink or sandwich are difficult as the bar (which is usually empty) is unapproachable due to chairs jammed next to each other. Once someone does wait on you they mess around trying to make their iPad ordering system work (seriously, iPads? How about a paper and pen?). There is no concept of a queue and ordering is similar to boarding an airplane.

I always try to give every restaurant in this town some business but this place is off my list. Someone with restaurant management experience is desperately needed.

Hi Bradley,

We actually cater to all of our customers, dine-in or to go, and our dining seats 45 hungry people with about 500 people daily eating at my place during this week (Spring Break) and rarely empty unless we are closed. Our new bar was created so that to go orders are actually taken outside at the hostess stand, last time you were here it was in the middle of the restaurant, that was a bottleneck. The new iPad system minimizes order errors, maximizes food being expedited and simplifies your ability to pay your check. And yes it is new so forgive my staff who are trying hard to learn everything and please a breakfast/lunch/dinner crowd that has a waiting list all day. We make about 75 pizzas an hour, not one at a time. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know you won't be back-- we are pretty fond of our customers, I am fond of my staff, and ok losing someone who does not appreciate us.

Best,

Nikki Nickerson

“Some changes aren't always for the better.”
Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

This has been one of our regular hangouts for years of visiting area. We typically visit it 3 or more times a week on vacation. Missed the regular faces behind the counter. More
Servers didn't make for better service. We waited and waited and waited for our drinks, our food, our tickets. The register updating to an I pad seemed to completely fluster the staff.
Breakfast remains our favorite time to stop by- They still have the best grits and Bloody Mary's anywhere. Eggs and stuff and Waffle were very good.
Lunch- nothing spectacular

We will probably give it one more shot in hopes of service improvement. Hate to think we have to find a new go-to place

Thanks for taking the time to review my place. The regulars are still here-- we just had to triple our wait staff with the new seating. We are still learning our new system but it is far better than the paper and pen system from the past. We are also still learning how to handle shift changes with full service wait staff, which is probably why you waited longer than you should for anything. I think with time you will see the service be perfect for hanging out, and we are certainly one of the more affordable places to dine on 30A. It is always difficult when we are hit with mass crowds in the Spring to get all of our new staff trained for the volume of business we do. Hopefully you will come back and see the improvements, and if not, we certainly appreciate your business over the years.

Best,

Nikki Nickerson

“Only place to eat/drink in Rosemary!”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

No problem whatsoever eating breakfast, lunch and dinner at Cowgirl every day, by far the best food in all of Rosemary!!! Always, always good! Sadly we had dinner from somewhere else tonight and we were so disappointed, very tempted to call and order chicken enchiladas from CK just to end the day on a good note! Oh yeah, and its not a beach day without one or two Flirtatious Cowgirls. Enjoy!!

Thank you so much Mrs. Larsen! Especially during Spring Break when we go from 100 people a day to 500, it is always hard to catch our breath going from Winter to Spring. Customers like you make us happy for the effort! We came up with the Flirtatious Cowgirl back in 2006 when we opened in Rosemary Beach. Happy to share the recipe if you would like. I will be sure to pass on your praise to the staff, and sure hope to meet you on your next visit to CK, please let me know when you are here!
