Can Llouquette is such a beautiful & restful place to spend a holiday. Simon & Ashley are very welcoming, the location is stunning and if you ever get bored of lying beside the immaculate pool watching the myriad butterflies (which I didn't) there are lots of things to do in the surrounding area. L'Atelier is very spacious - we were a family of 4 - and well-equipped with a huge kitchen/living area and 2 en suite shower rooms. The mountain location means that it's cool during the night and early morning. A week wasn't long enough to properly explore the grounds, which include a long riverside walk and plunge pools, as well as hammocks. It is rare on holiday that I feel I could stay longer but this was one of those rare times.

Our young family (4 & 6) recently spent one week at L’Atelier and we had a wonderful time.
Simon and Ashley are both well travelled and have worked hard to create an environment that is really lovely to stay at. This ranges from the smallest details within each property to the relaxed but thoughtful way they treat you during your stay. The properties all benefit from the pool and garden but residents can also wander around the rest of the grounds which are left fairly wild to attract an enormous number of butterflies.
The people in the nearby villages and towns were the friendliest French people that I have come across.
We followed our stay with a week at the beach which was a good balance for our family but our second property just could not meet the high standards set at Can Llouquette.

I recently spent a most amazing, relaxing two weeks in L'Atelier. from the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Simon, Ashley and the charming Sophia. Our hosts were super helpful with local knowledge and made us fell at home from the beginning of our stay.

L'Atelier itself is a very cleverly constructed building with an open living area /dining room and two double rooms either side of this. The kitchen has absolutely everything you'll ever need. I got a little bit too excited when I spotted the espresso machine, the perfect gadget for long, lazy breakfasts.

I couldnt recommend L'Atelier enough for couples, families with children or friends. I left the place completely relaxed and rested. Its the perfect place to step away from modern life without having to venture too far from civilisation.

“An Oasis in the Pyrenees”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Upon our arrival my girlfriend and I were warmly greeted by Ashleigh & Simon, who made us feel right at home. Also on the evening of our arrival we were offered a glass of wine from a local vineyard and a lovely warm meal, which is music to any weary travelers ears. This home prepared evening meal is optional when booking so pending on your travel plans, it may not be suitable but I would highly recommend it as Ashleigh & Simon are fantastic cooks.
This warm welcome would set the tone for our stay as my girlfriend and I were guided around what only can be described as a spacious and luxurious gite, which would be our lodgings for the week. The gite is is fully equipped with all the utensils and facilities one would need, including a spacious kitchen come dining room and an array of dishes in which to prepare and enjoy the local Catalan delicacies. Each morning we woke to complete serenity and the most beautiful grounds, that are daily maintained by Simon.
All in all I could not recommend highly enough a stay at these beautiful surroundings, that could only be described as "An Oasis in the Pyrenees".

Liked best: The warm and friendly nature of our hosts, who made their home totally open for us to enjoy.
Liked least: Only as I have to pick something & one is well notified of this may I add, that any groceries or any little comforts you may need be sure to bring them with you. That said the nearest super-marche is only 20mins away

“What more could you want?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013 for a stay in August 2012

We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing week. Utter peace, warm weather and a charming location. Plenty to see and do within half an hour's drive, remarkable walking around the Canogou and truly welcoming hosts.
The Atelier is cleverly set out with two en suite bedrooms at either end of the main living area. Barbecue on the patio and swimming pool a few paces away. We didn't spend enough time in the garden and ploring the property, but the butterflies were quite wonderful.
Simon, Ashley and Sophia made wonderful hosts and their local knowledge and recommendations were all well judged. We certainly look forward to soming back. Highly recommended.

“The perfect location for families who love the outdoors, mountains and to escape, made by charming hosts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013 for a stay in August 2012

Our week in Can Llouquette stands out as the best family holiday in years. It's 7 months since we visited and still both our boys - then 7 and 9- talk about our week in the French pyrenees as the absolute best. It's hard to your finger on why it is such a special place. It is beautiful and carefully thought-through without being precious, the bumpy drive invites you to switch off to the demands of normal life, the pool begs you to jump in. For our oldest the highlight was the arrival of the two new donkeys which he likes to think he personally tamed and meeting another boy of his age. For our youngest Sophia (owners' Ashley and Simon's daughter) was a big hit as was climbing his first ever mountain.

At Can Llouquette there is no pressure to socialise. It really is a case of 'make it up as you go along' and Simon and Ashley strike just the right balance of hospitality and warmth and knowing when to leave you to your holiday. What a find! If we didn't have to go to Portugal for a family party this summer, this is where we would be again in August 2013.
