“A stay at loch View = Heaven”
Reviewed October 7, 2016 for a stay in May 2014

Have stayed at this cottage on quite a few holidays and was never disappointed .
The cottage itself ,cosy ,warm with every facility needed......the main point of interest is most definitely the picture window in the lounge .
The animals and wildlife that can be seen out of that window is fantastic ! could hardly tear myself away in case I missed anything. Pine Martens visiting most nights and daytime activity too ,Deer wandering and feeding in the garden ,chance of spotting an otter ,Eagles and a wonderful variety of garden birds .Be prepared to bring extra bird food (as the deer often steal it !).
The garden open and spacious ,very inviting for any dog to play ,leads down to the Loch Sunart ......which is a marvellous view ,access to the loch is via a jetty here if you are lucky enough to have a boat or kayak etc.
The peace and tranquillity can not be bought , this is definitely a holiday that will refresh and recharge your batteries.
If you can tear yourself away from the cottage ,there are loads of options for walks ,trips and days out .All of which Alan and Fiona provide information on.

“Fantastic Cottage”
Reviewed August 7, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

This cottage was delightful . We went as a family of 6 adults 1 baby and 1 dog, The cottage was very comfortable and clean, It has evreything you could wish for and more. Plenty of wood for the fire , barbeque in shed, plenty of space , well equipped kitchen. There was even dog bowls in a cupboard which came in very handy. Most importantly like all other reviews have said the wildlife is brilliant deers fawns visited us evrey night we put fruit out for them and some veg and they loved it. Jam and Peanut butter for the pine martins which visited evrey evening and also odd times through the day. Down at the loch we often saw harbour porpoise, otter, seals,no end of birds and the birds that visited the bird table just outside the window 0f the cottage were in abundance. We had a slight problem with the water going off 1 night but phoned Allan and he came out the same night to sort it for us , he was so good he phoned next morning to check all ok. We had a couple of meals out at the Salen Hotel which were very good {booking is recommended}. There is a very well stocked shop at Acharacle and the internet cafe there is excellent for lunch the cake selection was very good. We travelled round the area and had lunch at the nadurra visitor centre which again was very good and the people were extremley friendly. All in all we had a brilliant holiday and will definatly return to Loch view Cottage . I would recommend it to anyone who loves wildlife and photography or just a good holiday .

“Fabulous Place”
Reviewed July 24, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Just stayed here for a week, this is our third visit. Cottage lovely as usual very welcoming. Had a nice week out on the boat, kayak an cycling too. Spent far too much time watching the pine martins daily visits for jam an peanut butter. Could not get the boat in from cottage this time as has been some damage to floating pontoon over winter, however we put the boat in at Salen for £10 so all worked out fine. Can Thoroughly recommend this cottage, the location is stunning, its fascinating watching the tides change from the cottage window. Take plenty of midge an tick protection and you will have a fabulous week.

Our second visit to this wonderful cottage. Excellent facilities all round. We were not disappointed either with the wildlife which visited. Red deer most days, and in fact stayed most nights as my garden camera proved. Many different breeds of birds including a woodpecker which appeared twice.
The highlight was a visit one night by 4 young pine martens. The mature ones had visited other times. This was probably the first time they had ventured to the cottage as a couple of them were intent on trying to jump through the glass. They stayed a long time and came back again.
We would recommend breakfast at the Internet Cafe in Acharacle (served between 10 am and 11am). Also the 2 hour boat trip from Glenfinnan on Loch Shiel. Do book ahead though as numbers are restricted. We were lucky enough to get the last 2 places. For quality gifts and an excellent light lunch try the Nature Centre at Glenbeg. Reasonably priced.
We will certainly return to the cottage.

“Super cottage. Will be going back.”
Reviewed May 23, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

One of the warmest cottages we've ever been to. Were there in cool weather and still had to keep turning the radiator thermostats down!
Great central location for the whole of Ardnamurchan.
The wild life that visits outside the window is awesome. Pine Martens, deer and a wonderful variety of birds.
Ardnamurchan Charters along the road at Laga Bay are a must. Andy Jackson, the owner and skipper does a variety of different trips throughout the week. Do one of them. You won't regret it.
For our next visit to Ardnamurchan, this cottage will definitely be our first preference..

Chose this cottage for a number of reasons, including the need for peace and quiet, opportunities to relax and to indulge my passion for wildlife photography. It did not disappoint in any way. the cottage was comfortable with everything that would be needed during a stay. The view down to the loch was captivating, especially when looking out for the wildlife. Who needs TV when you have deer, abundance of birds and the local pine martens visiting?

We did venture further afield and the cottage is ideally placed to visit a number of beaches, loch side views, forests etc.

Owners could not have been more helpful ~ we will return!

“Wonderful cottage and wildlife to match!”

We have just returned from a week at Loch View cottage and WOW! What a marvelous location. The cottage is set on the edge of Loch Sunart with the tide coming in to the bottom of the garden. Beautiful!
The cottage was well equipped and warm. (We had very wet and cold weather.)
From the lounge window we regularly saw pine martens feeding at the table just about 1 metre away. They were not put off by movement from within. We saw a family of four as well as one or two other individuals.
Also five red deer appeared most days within feet of the window. Two adult females and three very young.
The pine martens were partial to peanut butter. We found that the crunchy butter meant they stayed longer whilst chewing.
The beauty of the location of the cottage should not be under rated either. Simply beautiful.
