“Exceptional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

Found this cafe by accident and it is in an excellent position overlooking Derwentwater. The menu offers a good choice especially for vegetarians. The waitress provided good and friendly service. We enjoyed the coffee and home made cakes so much we went again before we had to leave. Strongly recommend and we shall return.

“A hidden gem !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

This place is a real gem and well worth the visit if you are in the area. We went there for lunch and and I can assure you that we were not dissapointed. We were a mixture of adults and children and from entering the cafe we were very well treated. The cafe itself is a large bright room with a counter in one corner and tables to sit at both inside and outside on a large patio. The Dandelion Cafe is actually more of a restaurant than a cafe and is rather chic and fashionable inside - appearing up market in fact. Between us we had soups, sandwiches, childrens meals and adult meals and everything was superb. Big servings which were freshly made and well presented - guaranteed to please and they certainly did ! The service was good with nothing being a problem for the helpfull friendly staff. Yes we had to to wait a little longer as they obviously make it fresh to order but it is well worth it. The cafe appears to be part of the Derwent Bank Hotel and consequently access to the wonderful gardens of the hotel and the lake is simply a bonus. Well done Dandelion Cafe - we will return !

“Wonderful coffee, next time...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

We dropped in not knowing the place before. We sat outside overlooking Derwent water and had a really nice coffee, the service was excellent and the environment out of this world. The Sunday dinner menu looked great and not badly priced either, we will be returning.

“Cream Tea...yum yum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

We stopped and had cream tea..absolutely delightful. Nice and clean, excellent service will stop here again on our next visit. The meals that passed looked lovely and only wished we hadn't booked dinner at the hotel as could have tried one.
