Been there with business colleagues and I think I have never had so much good food in a row. Everything worked perfectly from service to good and drinks. Worth every euro you pay and the view makes the rest

My husband and I had spent the morning hiking in the Cañon del Río Lobo. At our ages (65 and 74), we are not going to win any athletic prizes, but it was a lovely excursion through the woods with river and caves included. Since we managed to survive the experience, we decided to have lunch in Ucero. This was the first restaurant that caught our eye. We were given a window table with a nice view of the river (with ducks included). There is a daily menu of 11 euros (which we chose). The menu includes two courses, dessert, bread, a bottle of (anonymous) red wine and water. There is an a la carte menu, but it is rather expensive.

Since I am not a huge eater, I only asked for one course. I chose grilled sardines. They were extremely fresh and without a doubt, the largest sardines that I had ever seen in my life. The fish was delicious. My one course was served on a huge plate with potatoes and lettuce and tomato. I was very happy that I had not asked for two courses. My husband did order the whole menu. He had bean soup and spare ribs, both of which were very good (I tasted them). The wine was average but then this was a an 11-euro menu. So one cannot expect miracles. For dessert, my husband ordered custard. It was not good since obviously someone had left it in the oven too long and it was riddled with holes.

We have no complaints about the service since the waiter was attentive. Our bill was even lower than expected since he charged us less (18 euros instead of 22) because I had only asked for one dish and had not eaten dessert. Nevertheless, we found it odd that when speaking in Spanish, he used the familiar (tu/vosotros) when addressing us since we were somewhat older than he was (besides being complete strangers).

However, we would certainly repeat the experience if we decided to travel here again.
