“Old fashioned homely Italian Restaurant”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

Had a lovely meal in our local Italian Restaurant for the first time this week. And it was lovely to bee in a traditional Italian Restaurant that has not been modernised and without the leather sofas ect that you see so often these days!Had a tastie meal and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. It was relaxing and we were not rushed at all and the owners are very welcoming. Will def. be going again!!

“Best Italian in the North East!!”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

I have been coming to Francos for many years and can hand on heart say that I have NEVER had a bad meal or a poor service.

The staff are all very friendly and pleasant and can't do enough for you while your there. The style of the restaurant has never changed and it gives it a nice traditional feel! I moved out of Prudhoe around 7 years ago and live in Durham but still more than happy to travel to Prudhoe for the fantastic food and great atmosphere. I introduced the wife to this restaurant and she also loves it!

I highly recommend the king prawns in garlic they are out of this world! I have tried to find a restaurant that does them the same in many cities and countries and can not find any! I normally get chicken pizziola for main which is also very tasty. The beef Franco is also very very nice. You always leave feeling stuffed as the portions are very generous.

If you are celebrating an occasion let the staff know a d they will make it special for you. Ha ha my wife brought a birthday cake and candles and the lights were dimmed and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday a nice gesture albeit a little embarrassing.

Overall a fantastic restaurant highly recommended. If your looking to try somewhere new head a bit further afield and give it a go, you'll not be disappointed!

“Book Early To Avoid Disappointment !”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

I booked a table for my wife's birthday last week as a treat and we weren't disappointed......In fact,to be honest,we've never been disappointed when we've eaten here.

The staff are friendly and welcoming but unobtrusive and ultra-efficient which only comes from experience, good training and a focussed management style.

If you want a cutting edge dining experience don't book to eat here but If you want good quality food, well prepared, superbly cooked and served ,leaving you with an enormous sense of well-being, then this is the place for you!

As we sat in the bar I noticed that the menu had recently had a 'makeover' but apart from one or two new items it was simply a retyping exercise and I breathed easily again. It's THAT kind of place ,that operates on the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" principle, which seems to suit all concerned. However,it should be pointed out that the menu is regularly added to by way of "specials" (which are always worth a look), written on chalkboards dotted around the bar area.

This is a restaurant that is comfortable with itself without being complacent and standards of food and service are extremely high.Considering the quality of the food and service it is extremely good value for money and a good night out to boot!

This is one of the very few restaurants I would have no hesitation in taking friends to or recommending to anybody else but be aware that whilst booking is essential at weekends even during the week you would be advised to ring in advance.

“Good Italian Food in Prudhoe”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Francos is a very good Italian resturant on Prudhoes' main street. The waiter is always very welcoming, usually you don't have to book is your in before 8pm. The choice of food - including the 'specials' is primera classa and great value.
