We have been to Mauna Kea for over 20 years and always the restaurant is a beautiful spot. Last night the scenery was matched by the food. All of us, my parents, my family of 5 and my sister's family, had a wonderful experience. The keiki menu was close to perfect, and the open kitchen was a perfect addition as our kids got a bit antsy. The jazz music was so lovely that I dance a little with my 9 year old! My curried seafood and asparagus app were so great and plentiful, that my plan to share them with my mom left both of us satisfied and with room for dessert. The fresh-baked breads and the tapenade were wonderful. The wines by the glass were all appreciated, as was the gentle reminder to put in our souffle order if desired. Too bad the Manta Rays were not out, but at least it kept the kids occupied while the grown-ups relaxed with our drinks. A wonderful night!
