“Peaceful stop after the hurricane......”
Reviewed September 2, 2011

Spent two nights at Auberge Quilliams, catching up with our son, in a top-floor suite. The room faced the reserve faunique behind the auberge, with good views and away from any road noise. The room configuration was fine - king bed/armoire in open loft upstairs and sofa-bed/full washroom on the main level. The mini-kitchen/table would be useful for those wanting a non-restaurant meal (small microwave and two range elements but no oven). Be aware that there's no elevator. Room was comfortable and enjoyed the balcony/seating there. While not a luxury suite and with some wear evident on the carpet/furniture, this was a quite adequate lodging. The restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner and staff were friendly. There is a fair bit of truck traffic so I'd recommend a room overlooking the reserve faunique. We didn't try the pool or use the spa or canoes provided but these facilities looked to be in good order.

Room Tip: To escape road noise, request a room at the back of the auberge.

My sister and I have been at Quilliams for two nights in August.
The hotel is very well located in front of Lac Brome.
We had a room with a balcony facing the lake.
Very quiet and charming.
Food is excellent : potage andalouse, duck and beef filet were delicious.
Outdoor pool appreciated. There is a hot tub and indoor pool if it rains and gym facilities.
Will go again for sure.

My wife and our two babies stayed here for a long weekend in late May. The owners are both very nice. It is a pet-friendly hotel, which is part of the reason we chose it. (There was nothing special for the dog, but it worked out fine; they did charge extra fees.) The location is pretty good, across the street from the lake and at the back it's on a protected wetland. You can use the hotel's canoes to paddle through both.

The food was great. We got a breakfast and dinner package and it was all first rate. The service in the dining room was also excellent.

The hotel amenities are fine as was the room. The indoor pool is very small and in an odd spot -- right at the front door and entrance for all to see. The outdoor pool was not yet open.

The only real complaint I have with this place, and it's a big one, is our room was never cleaned. The maid changed the towels and literally threw the comforter over the bunched up bed sheets and that's it. Nothing was cleaned for 3 days. I went and got the vacuum from the hall and did a quick clean. (On our vacation, how sad is that!) We told the owner and he apologised but nothing more, no discount or anything.

The price was not a bargain by any means, but wasn't exorbitant.

I would question the 4 star rating. Other than the dinning room food and staff, I'd say it's a 3 star establishment.

If we return to the area we might stay there again, depending on the promotions they were offering.

Room Tip: Front rooms face the lake, back the wetlands

We were looking for peace and harmony, a quiet environment, relaxation over a few days and that’s what we have found at Quilliams. We have seen ducks, geese, herons and other birds from our balcony that we have quite enjoyed without being experts. The sunset over the lake is spectacular. We may come back in the summer to explore the faunal reserve on canoe.

Otherwise: friendly staff, excellent food and large selection of wine. Good value for money.

Room:We were a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids) staying in a very nice and well equipped suite on the 3 rd floor. It's very spacious, there is one bedroom with King Bed, 2 sofa beds (one on the mezzanine and one in the living room, 2 bathrooms a balcony, mini-fridge, stove and microwave oven.

Food: Very good "a la carte" breakfast. And great dinner. You can order the local specialty "duck breast" of the lac Brome, but i personally loved the lamb that was perfectly cooked.

Location: located near 3-4 ski resorts (Sutton, Orford, Bromont are located within 30 minutes drive)

We must go back during summer time since it is located on the shore of the Lake Brome. And say hello to the very welcoming owners.

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at Auberge Quilliams. It was a great place! The food and service are excellent, the rooms, are comfortable and quiet. We came to downhill ski for the first two days, and cross-country on the third: everything is possible around here!
Looking forward to coming back next year... or perhaps this summer.

We spent a weekend in Auberge Quilliams. It is a hidden gem. If you like to observe the nature go there for a quite autumn or winter stay. The resto is fabulous. Excellent French kitchen with good wines. The sunset was splendid.
