“lovely walka nd bike ride”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

Perth has a magic waterway, the Swan river is blue, unlike Melbourne and Qld where brown is not nice, the backdrop of the CBD and Kings Park makes for a lovely walk, run or bike ride, there are designated bike paths and running lanes, it really is very pleasant and the sun is always shining and all this is free.

“Get the ferry to south perth”
Reviewed June 13, 2014

South perth is a short $3 ferry ride and has some nice pubs and a different aspect on the city.
Great option if your in town for a short time and want to get out of the hotel room. Views are great and there is some sand and parkland if you have kids you want to entertain.

“Where do we start? WOW, is what normally comes to mind here!”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

The South Perth Foreshore is excellent! and that is really not enough to explain just how excellent it is! To start with, there is so much that Im not sure I will be able to put it all in for you but I will give it a go! There is a long and cruisy bike riding trail which is right besides the river wall, many people use it running and walking on with out much fuss or bother to the cyclists from what I could see. There is just the most beautiful lawned area in Perth and on the day I was there, there was a gorgeous wedding happening! What a beautiful setting for a wedding too! The city in the far background and the beautiful water behind with sailing boats and motorcraft sailing up and down the river with a ferry or two crossing from Perth to South Perth, the wedding was held near the South Perth Yacht Club which had a small jetty for those that just wanted to use their dinghy's or just sit and fish. There are many, many children's playgrounds in great condition and shady trees near by so parents can sit and watch their children having a ball! Speaking of having a ball of sorts! A young couple were getting married on the day I was walking along the foreshore and it looked absolutely beautiful! There was a gentle breeze so it seems like a perfect place to have a wedding, plenty of area for seating and many places for the photographs afterwards! The cyclists that were on the path at the time of the wedding took note of this and graciously stopped for nearly the entire vows and ceremony! I would say that this part of the foreshore has a lot of weddings by what I was told by one of the guests and who wouldn't choose a spot like this if you knew you could have a wedding here! With the background as beautiful blue water and if you wanted you could include the spectacular entire city of Perth behind you! There are so many trees and seats along the entire run of the foreshore that you can actually sit without walking a great distance for those who are not well or not too fit and trying to get fit, it is ideal to start here because you can rest a while, then walk again and get fit plus have a wonderful view! Not too far from the end is the South Perth Yacht Club with plenty of yachts out in the water with their main sails up looking fantastic! It must have been a competition day because they seemed to be racing and there were camera crews with their camera's trained on the yachts. Quite a number of families were watching them racing too! I was just enjoying what was around me and who wouldn't! I suspect that at night and from what I heard from some of the guests at the wedding, this is the place to fish at night! So there you go, that's a big hint for those who like fishing! and for those who just enjoy getting out for the day, this would be the place I would go if I lived in the city!

“Beautiful view of the city.”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

I was fortunate to live in the street behind the Perth foreshore on Mill Point Road so spent a lot of time here. South Perth is an amazing place to live, there is so much geared towards exercise, ie walking/running tracks, cycle tracks. Benches are placed on the green so that you can enjoy a relaxing view of the city. Close to the foreshore you have Mends street with its cafes and quaint little shops. One of my special attractions was watching about 10 dolphins swimming close to the jetty. Another attraction is the ferry to the city which takes about 10 minutes and which I used about three days a week. An unforgettable experience.

“A great way to see Perth City - especially at night”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

All along the South Perth foreshore there are walking and cycling paths, several picnic areas and great restaurants which all give a fantastic vantage point the see the city lights at night. Have an afternoon BBQ or picnic and then stay until dark and watch the city come to life.
