- Rooms -

Stayed here for 5 nights with family. We had a river view room and a 2 bedroom family apartment. The property seems pretty old and the rooms lack a certain feeling of warmth. Each apartment had a kitchenette with a microwave so it is definitely possible to cook. Also has a couch and flat screen TV. They really try to maximize space though so everything is rather compact. The size of the one bedroom riverview apartment is more or less the same size as the 2 bedroom. Beds are springy and not that comfortable.

Huge issue with the room layout for the 2 bedroom though because the one and only bathroom (and toilet) was attached with the master bedroom with no adjoining door. You literally have to walk right inside the room to get into the toilet. While this may very well be fine for an actual family, it doesn't work so well if 4 adults are sharing the bathroom because it means the people in the master bedroom have to keep their door open so that the others can get to the toilet. If you have people who visit the toilet in the middle of the night, it can cause major sleep disruptions for the people in the master bedroom. The doors aren't exactly squeek-free either. Never seen a room layout like that where the only toilet has no adjoining door or is not separately located outside of both bedrooms for easy sharing.

- Location -
Good location. Once you step out you're right at the river and there's great jogging paths all along. Lots of cafes nearby and easy access to the ferry that takes you across to the city. Also a 10 minute walk to the Perth Zoo. There's a small playground too near the ferry area so its good for kids. But if you want to be in the heart of the city, this is obviously not the place.

- Overall -
Nice location but for the price you could probably get better, nicer and newer accommodation in the city in actual hotels. This is only good if you have your own car and want to be able to cook your own food. Else you spend quite a bit of time taking the ferry over and waiting for the free CAT bus on the other side to take you to the city.

This is a nice serviced apartment facility in a great location, if you wish to be away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD. The rooms are well equiped. It is possible to cook your own meals. There is a supermarket in the little shopping complex a couple of minutes walk away. Eating out options are limited in the immediate vicinity but luckily, the few cafes & restaurants that are within walking distance are really good. Be prepared to pay a bit more than you think you should be paying though. There is a regular ferry service within a few minutes walk from the apartment to the CBD. The staff were friendly and helpful. One thing that surprised me was that there was no place in the facility to freshen up once I had checked out of my room. I was told the nearest public convenience was at the shopping complex nearby! Hmmm...

My wife and I stayed here for three nights on a work trip, and we were very happy with the apartment. Other reviewers have complained about the partial river views but the management are very clear that the views are partial. The internet is expensive, and slow, as it seems to be all over Australia, and the furnishings in the rooms are rather old-fashioned, but for all that, we will definitely book the Peninsula apartments next time we are working in Perth. The location is great (the ferry across the river to downtown Perth takes just 7 minutes) and there are literally dozens of wonderful restaurants and cafes along Mends Street.

We stayed here for 9 days with our 2 toddlers in 2 bedroom unit and we're totally satisfied. Room is clean and the location is superb with nice view of perth city and river. There's two nice playground nearby, our kids love to play there so much that they can stay there whole day. Also there's IGA supermarket just 5 mins walk and good cafes / restos nearby . Atomic cafes has a delicious brunch and great coffees. Coco's resto also has very good steak and oysters. There's also ferry to the city every 15 mins which is quite an entertainment for the kids.
The highlight to this apt is truely the location! Room and service is good too. The only downside is the only one ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom so there's quite no privacy for us. And also the cleaning service only come 3 times a week without vacuuming the floor.

But other than thAt all is good!
