Stayed here for 2 nights on our way back from Arabaminch. It had great infrastructure with pathways leading to nice beach. Well built tukals with kitchens. A nice swimming poor. Free massage for guests and free horse riding and canoeing. Lovely looking reception, bar and restaurant. What could possibly go wrong?
1: The accommodation had 2 bathrooms, but one was unusable due to infestation of ants. They had obviously sprayed it (and not bother to clean the dead ones away) but not enough. You just couldn't go in. Also the water only worked at certain times during the day. Didn't mind not having a shower. But we couldn't flush the toilet. Uggh. It was really frustrating because while we didn't have water, the grass and flowers were getting watered. I reckon they'd got their priorities wrong somewhere here.
2: The restaurant. It's common in Ethiopia for the food to arrive to the table at different times. But the staff felt to me to be badly trained. For example: Spagettii arrived after12 minutes, but a sandwich took nigh on 2 hours. We complained 2 or 3 times but nobody listened. We complained again the following day and they were apologetic, but it didn't really improve the following evening. There's nowhere else to eat unfortunatly.
3: The bar. Took an age to get served. Made a mess of a bill and double charged us.
The real shame about this is that it wouldn't take a whole lot to move this from a 2 star to a 5. It has bundles of potential as a holiday destination. It's obvious that a lot of money has gone into this resort. It's just VERY badly run.
