Our trip here was truly amazing. The staff was great, the accommodations were fun and the food was the best! Our stay in the large guest house was really fun and made our whirlwind tour of Norway simply stand still with the location and peacefulness! Highly recommend!m

The perfect location, service, and staff. We had a large group and all stayed together in the old storehouse. The weather was great and we used it as a jumping off point for jotunheimen and the bessigen ridge. Highly recommended. If you are within 100 miles you have to go.

Thank you for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate it! The Besseggen ridge is amazing, and one of my personal favorite hikes!

Hope to see you in Heidal again.

Stayed 1-one night last weekend and would definately return if going to this area of Norway. Excellent service, perfect setting, a tad to expensive, but still worth the visit. Rooms are cosy, but I would have preferred a bit harder beds. God food and overall absolutely worth it.

Room tip: Choose the double rooms closest to the main building

Last June we stayed 4 nights in Nordre Ekre. Last year we couldn't fully enjoy our stay so we decided to come back this year and it was the best decision we could have made.
Nice room (we had the pink one), nice environment (we did some great hikes!), nice weather (true, that was perhaps also luck) and on top of it every evening an excellent dinner. Even for Belgians like us, this was top class! Oyvind is a top chef & a warm host!
We definitely will come back in the future!

My friend and I stayed in this historic place for two nights. It is everything you expect of a family owned hotel in the green Norwegian hills.
Warm rooms, good bathroom facilities ( we had a junior suite) very comfortable bed all furnished with traditional furniture.
The 4 course set evening meal was to die for both nights.
