We found the room to be small and cramped, especially as the bed was so big, and the quilt would not fit over. The curtains were transparent so not good for privacy. The wifi was hit and miss. Dogs are allowed free of charge which was great and the breakfast was good too.

Room Tip: You would probably get a better room if you dont take your dog!

We decided to stay out of Vienne and experience something akin to authentic Austrian yet close enough to drive into the city.

As we drove through the countryside my first impression was what have I done and then, secondly, where are we.

I shouldn't have worried. What a beautiful part of the world we have found and a lovely Inn with exceptional food and hospitality to go with it.

Within an easy 40 minute drive to Vienne (not sure on public transport) through lush green forest and farmland is Brand - Laaben. I think the Austrians have been keeping this one to themselves and are unwilling to share this pristine area to outsiders.

But, if you are lucky enough to find it, be prepared for a friendlty and welcoming stay.

Rooms are in a seperate building to the Inn, spacious, very clean and well appointed. If we had one fault it was the poor Wifi reception. Being free was a bonus and maybe it had someting to do with the electrical storms, but a problem. The owners did what they could and did advise that they were in the process of re-wiring access points so this may fix that issue.

English is limited, then again so is our Austrian (and German). On our second evening the owners son prepared an English menu on our belhalf. For this we were truely grateful and humbled. Needless to say the food and company was excellent.

If you have transport and would like to try something a little different, whilst in Vienne, them I would strongly recommend this establishment.
