“Honeymoon Heaven”
Reviewed August 29, 2012 for a stay in July 2012

My new husband and I stayed at the barn in July for our honeymoon. We were looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful and this seemed to be the ideal location.

When I booked the barn, I had mentioned that it was our honeymoon. The owners really went the extra mile as when we arrived there were rose petals on our bed, champagne and chocolates, a really nice and unexpected touch!

The barn itself is stunning; finished to perfection and feels very homely. Like others have said we received a meal on our arrival (a lovely chilli con carne). The kitchen was fully equipped and had all the necessary utensils available. The rooms are all nicely decorated to a high standard and the hot tub was just divine. I think we definitely spent too much time in the hot tub but we couldn't resist!

We took the owner up on his offer of showing us round the local area. He was very informative and knew all the great spots around so we knew what to do whilst we were there. I would particularly recommend the Devonshire Arms pub for a Sunday lunch, it was a great Sunday roast and I even got an extra yorkshire pudd.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the barn and will definitely recommend to friends and family. I am hoping we can return to celebrate a future anniversary.

“A great base for visiting the Peak District.”
Reviewed August 10, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

This was our very first family holiday with our son Tyler (10 months old) and we had a great time. We found the property on Trip Adviser and the pictures, reviews and facilities looked great. The booking process was easy, just a few emails and it was all sorted.

The Weather wasn't great for our week but that didn't take anything away. The barn is finished to a very high standard throughout and has everything you need - even more equipment than we have in our own kitchen!

As mentioned in other reviews we had a hot meal provided on arrival which was great. There was also a high chair, cutlery and plates laid out for Tyler which was a nice touch.
The travel cot was perfect and the room Tyler stayed in was really dark, even during the day. Anyone with a baby will appreciate that!

The open plan style makes the accommodation surprisingly baby friendly. We could see Tyler from wherever we where and he had plenty of open space to crawl around in. There is a stair gate provided so he couldn't escape.

There's so much to do in the area and we would recommend Chestnuts Otter Sanctuary, Chatsworth House and Buxton especially. Bakewell is a good day out too - especially when they have the market on.

“Wow - what a fantastic place to relax”
Reviewed January 17, 2012 for a stay in November 2011

We had the perfect honeymoon - thanks to Lynn & Nigel. We sought a cottage in a quiet, beautiful location but fully equipped with all modern luxuries & that is exactly what we got (& more!). The barn is a credit to Lynn & Nigel's hard work. They thoughtfully catered for our every need & then spoilt us more with the 'little extras'. We cannot thank them enough. We look forward to returning - maybe to celebrate a Wedding Anniversary!

“Perfect place to relax and unwind”
Reviewed October 30, 2011 for a stay in October 2011

Had a really enjoyable short break here just wish it could have been longer. The barn was excellent and the hot tub enhanced the whole experience. It is the attention to detail that makes this place special, including the welcome by Nigel and Lynn. All the little extras including a hot meal on arrival, the quality of all the fixtures and fitting, you really don't have to worry about bringing any thing just your luggage. We often take short breaks but this one was really 5*. We will be back.
