Stayed here with my husband, 2 friends and Bert the dog for Challenge IOW Ultra event. Great central location to get around the island but lovely and quiet for a relaxing G&T in the beautiful gardens. Hosts very welcoming and quick to answer any questions if needed. Brewhouse is comfortable and well equipped for everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone.
The Old Brewhouse is a wonderful place to get away with a group of friends. John, the owner, is a great help on our arrival and everything we need is there. We had a wonderful time during our stay.
This is a absolutely stunning place , the gardens are amazing you feel like your in a park it so big and vast. It's amazingly looked after and is very private and quiet , I will definitely be refurning probably next year of I can , can't describe how beautiful it is . Would recommend to anyone .
A very comfortable base for touring the island, a real home away from home. Very well appointed, spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable furniture, all linens provided, fully equipped kitchen, TV with Freeview channels and DVD player, private sitting out area. We didn't meet the owners (I think they were away) but there was a welcome note inviting us to use any of their private garden as well. It felt very private, plenty of parking, nice countryside views. We really enjoyed returning home in the evenings and felt very much at home. Good water pressure, lots of hot water. Spacious fridge and freezer. There is a dishwasher although we didn't use it as we were only two people. We slept upstairs and I was worried it might be warm up there but it was fine with the windows open. The main bedroom on the ground floor which we didn't use looked very comfortable and is adjacent to the main bathroom (with bath and inbath shower) while we used the nice shower room upstairs.
Very few cons: there is a surprising amount of road noise from the nearby road in the day, it seems to be a well used route, but at night it was fine. The seating area is in full sun all day so can't be used if you need to sit in shade as I do (although I suppose we could have taken up the owner's offer of sitting in their garden). If you plan to do much cooking I would bring your own pots/pans and tools as some of the provided pans are very tired and the spatula was split. The WiFi worked fine but didn't seem very fast (I didn't measure the speed but it did seem to stutter on loading pages occasionally) so would probably not suit for example a teenager who wants to game online (luckily ours didn't come with us...). The property is quietly isolated which is nice in terms of privacy but you do need to drive to get anywhere, there didn't seem to be any shops or pubs nearby apart from The New Inn down the road which we didn't go to. We did our shopping at the big Lidl in Newport because we went right past that on the way to the cottage. We've been to the island before so we were happy to drive to places but I'm just mentioning it in case you prefer to walk out to get milk and a paper.
This was a lovely place to stay with a very fully equipped place you don't need anything everything is thought of, the grounds are just beautiful and very peaceful, it was lovely to sit in the rose garden in the mornings, very easy to get to and a very good location for exposing the whole island.
Lovely places to eat The sun and The new inn.
Great for dogs too.
Would definitely go back.
