“An Historic Meal after an Historic Walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

How lovely to take the Historic Cyprus Walk in Bridgetown, then stop for lunch at the Eggplant Cafe! Clearly a local favorite, the Eggplant was perfect--fresh ingredients, good service and outdoor seating near the Annapolis River. We did not expect the variety -- from curried vegetables and naan to pasties from Cornwall to hearty zucchini-pesto soup, all delicious. Highly recommended to tourists in the Annapolis Valley; skip the burgers and fries and go to the Eggplant!

Incredible fair trade coffee, delightful meals and tempting desserts. Eggplant has it all and the daily changing menu will have something for everyone. Local, fresh ingredients could not be prepared any better!

“Down home comfort food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

I have to admit that I am a chronic visitor to the Eggplant and that is because they are batting 100%. Everything tastes good, the menu varies daily, the ingredients are all fresh. They also dabble successfully in ethnic cuisine which lacks in this region. Can't get enough! As a former city dweller, spoiled by a large choice of restaurants, our family is glad the Eggplant chose Bridgetown.

“Take-out surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

Best date squares ever! All the pastries looked good; the sandwiches looked tasty but we just went for something sweet since we were still full from a big breakfast. Not much space to eat in, but quaintly decorated.

“Tasty Homemade Meals in a Cosy Cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

I've had many tasty treats from this neighbourhood cafe and always want to go back for more. Chantelle is the friendly proprietess and she serves lovely breakfasts, lunches and snacks. Wholesome food is well prepared and uniquely plated for enjoyment. The Eggplant serves both meat and vegetarian meals which are delicious. The soups and sandwiches are top notch. I've devoured wonderful curried squash soup (with homemade biscuits) and a beet salad with goat cheese and strawberry vinagrette. Home baked goodness is very attractively displayed in an expansive glass case and makes the choice very difficult. Local foods are emphasized and the colourful and warm atmosphere makes you feel welcome. Bridgetown is lucky to have this cafe!
