We've stayed at various places in & around Ubud many times, & found these villas 10 minutes drive outside Ubud to be nice & quiet, however, very interesting listening to the local wildlife at dawn & dusk. Although, I think probably too far out of Ubud centre for the first time visitor to Ubud.
Our 2 Bedroom Villa with Private Pool was wonderful. Great layout, outdoor lounge & dining rooms, clean & modern bathrooms, with air conditioning & ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The large private pool was always kept clean & was so refreshing whenever we used it. We also had a view of the rice fields which was very peaceful.
We stayed 12 nights, so we got a really good feel for the place & its surroundings. There is a beautiful little cafe set amongst the rice fields with a yoga studio above it only a minutes walk away. A further 15 minutes walk & you're in Penestanan via the back streets.
Staff were generally friendly & courteous but their understanding of the English language was a problem. The quality of the food was just average, & certainly not up to the standard & quality of the hotel itself. No safes in the Villas to store passports & valuables, only a safety deposit box at reception, which is a pain! No suitcase stands to open your suitcases up on, but sufficient room on the floor. It amazes me how many hotels I stay in still don't provide suitcase stands.
No on demand free shuttle to Ubud centre (only free at 11AM, 2PM & 5PM) which meant an additional $200AUD was spent on taxi fares to & from Ubud centre. This was disappointing, as when you're on holidays you never want to rush just to get a free shuttle, & hate arguing with the taxi drivers on the cost of the return fare! The hotel should step up & provide free transport to & from Ubud centre whenever their guests wish, many other hotels in this area are providing this on demand shuttle service. Their hotel shuttle bus was always parked in the garage, but they called taxis to take us into Ubud at a cost of $8 AUD charged to my account!?! I queried as to why they don't use their shuttle bus & they told me the driver is unavailable!?!
Finally, be warned, you need to use many stairs to access the Villas, so if mobility is a problem, then this place is certainly not for you.

The Resort is 2 km away from the centre of Ubud, very quiet can hear chirping and all different kind of amazing sounds of nature. Staff here are friendly and sincere. Very good choice for those who want to escape from cities for a while and have a quiet place to think about life :-p
Every night sitting by your own private pool, listening to the chirping, look at the starry sky, feel like life is just so brilliant!

Friendly staff and beautiful setting made for a wonderful stay. Lovely private plunge pool and outdoor area. Only downside would be the distance from ubud centre. 30 minute walk and roughly $6 one way taxi. A more regular shuttle service would be great! Currently offered only at 11am and 2pm. Peaceful place to stay however and lovely gardens and stream at hotel. Would recommend!!
