If you want to stay in an absolutely gorgeous villa, with every essential amenity you could possibly desire, with caring and gorgeous staff, then this is the place for you.
The Australian owners Ted and Kim leave nothing to chance with every detail covered. The villa and pool are gorgeous, say no more!! The staff are just so friendly second to none and will go well out of their way to help in any way they can. The prepared Indonesian food is excellent and authentic. Massage villa on site!!
This is truly a beautiful place to stay amongst the serenity of the rice fields in Sayan, within easy walking distance of Ubud, the cultural centre of Bali.
The Villa was positioned well in the rice fields of Sayan (Ubud) - had a 600m walk to the villa that was very picturesque and not an issue at all. It surpassed expectations and we couldn't ask for a better stay. The service was second to none, breakfast was delicious and trips and transport was arranged without any hassle. Staff were there when we needed them but also did not interfere at all. Made, Kadek and Paris were all amazing. We were a group of 6 adults with varying needs and I had my 2 year old son, all our needs were met. Great massages! Would highly recommend this villa!! Terima khasi! Liesle and Tenzin x
Where do I start! I wish I could go back. What a GORGEOUS place. From the peaceful location, breathtaking views, Balinese style Villa to the delicious food. Everything was amazing. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Kadek the manager goes the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need. He sorted our breakfast extra early when we needed to leave early, arranged all our transport and tours, delivery for food orders. He makes things happen.
We had the most relaxing massages - those ladies know what they doing.
We strolled through the rice fields for sunrise - pure bliss.
The walk to the Villa is about 6 minutes but it's not bad at all - you will need a torch at night.
The Villa was clean and had everything we needed. There were hardly any mosquitoes considering the location ...a few geckos and a small frog here and there but that's it....harmless.
Thank you for your incredible hospitality staff at Villa D'Carik 1 - I can't remember everyone's names but I will never forget your kindness - Kadek, Parish, Katut, Wayan, Made etc.
Love from Cape Town, South Africa
We loved the authentic Bali villa with the wood carvings and outdoor bathrooms etc with the very modern western convienience such as fans, air con and modern appliances. The pool and views from the villa are to die for and we walked though he rice fields each day. We had dinner cooked for us which was beautiful and breakfast lovely daily. Cleaning daily. Paris would did the massages was awesome. The staff were always on hand to accomodate any request. We loved our stay and the location is by far outstanding for views and relaxation. The kids got to help in the rice paddy fields. The local people were very friendly and you can get food delivered to villa. There is a 5 minute walk to the road through th fields but upon your arrival the staff take your luggage on bikes for you. It is a 10 minute drive to ubud $6 AU one way. I would pay the extra to drive to town and have the rice field experience anyday. Would recommend.
Large beautiful villa surrounded by stunning rice fields. An amazing walk along a track to the villa added to its charm. The villa has been thoughtfully appointed by the Australian owners. They were fantastic to deal with and always prompt with any responses required. The villa staff are fantastic and always very helpful. The same with the drivers who pick you up after your 5-10 min stroll out to the road. Been to Bali many times and never stayed in the middle of rice fields. It was amazing to see the real Bali with locals working in their fields planting and harvesting. Local riding past on their motorbikes smiling and waving. Kids laughter as they ran and flew their prized kites. After the craziness of Seminyak for a week, this was the best place to unwind and totally relax before heading back to reality at home.
I have been to Bali three times and this is one of the best stay. The host, Andrew will try to accommodate your request if it is reasonable. His response time is quick too. The walk to the villa is fine if it is during the day. It can be dark at night but the touch provided. Other than that no complains. Breakfast and good platter is good too.
The villa is beautiful and the surroundings and outlook superb. It was great to be located away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud but close enough to easily explore by scooter or with the drivers. Without transport, you are within walking distance of a fantastic restaurant (Moksa) and a few local stores. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunrises, the view of Mt Agung from the pool and balconies, and watching the local kids fly their kites in the fields every afternoon. The villa is suitable for children however the dim lighting in the bathrooms was not ideal for bathing infants or trying to do make up for that matter. We had a few issues during our stay - the pool became murky, a light was flickering in our bedroom despite being switched off, and there was no high chair as advertised - but these were all fixed promptly and to our satisfaction and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I can't recommend highly enough the in-house massage therapist, the local village walking tour and the Balinese banquet cooked by the in-house chef. Fantastic holiday!
