Good for it's budget. Located in residential area surrounded with South Indian, Omani & Iranian restaurants. The pool is very small and good for kids. Rooms are good in size. The coffee shop needs more attention. The hotel has access to other parts of the city and also the Airport. The staff are polite and helpful. May be will visit again!

We stayed here just for one night, en route home from Far East. Good little place to stay, but I wouldn't want to stay for longer. The hotel was fine, room and bathroom ok, and breakfast couldn't be faulted, for the cheap price of the room. The staff were extremely attentive, and helpful to all our requests,
It's the area that the hotel is in that is the downside. Although advertised as close to Seeb Airport, it actually takes a 20 minute taxi drive, along the freeway to get to it. The area is very highly immigrant, and there is nowhere to go, unless you walk a long way up the road to a few shops, selling bathrooms etc.,
Certainly not a tourist area, or an Omani one.

I dont know where to start. This hotels doesnt deserve any star.no good staff,no internet connection, swimming pool is very very very dirty so you dont need to go to up stairs to the pool.housekeeping knock your door in the very early time at 8 ask you if you need anything when you are sleeping.this is rediculous.tv channels are usuless.there are maybe 100000 channales but no idea which world they exist.very very poor breakfast.especially if the internet is important for you, no need to stay this hotel.when I ask the receptionist about internet they say nothing.despite I ask million times to the receptionist to give me a pair of slippers they only said yes we will send your room. And yes They send it at the last day When I was packing my luggages.no Tissues at breakfast.when you sleep in the middle of night the fire alarm rings :):):) And never ever again !!!Ohhh God that was a bad dream.

I visit Al Maha every quarter because my company is HQd in Muscat. It is a new property and is maintained well. Located in the Al-Ghubra district of Muscat. Starting with location it is surrounded by residential buildings with small stores and restaurants all around. All amenities are based on the fact that most people who stay here are on official visits and do not have much leisure time. There is a coffee shop and restaurant in the hotel. It serves a variety of food which is sufficient when you are hungry and need to fill up before conking off for the night. If you have time explore other restaurants around the hotel too. Rack Rates for the rooms are a bit on the higher side. The rooms are mostly spacious and clean. There is a small pool, more a very large tub I should say on the roof top which can be pleasant in the early morning and late in the night. the gym is well equipped too. The Lulu hypermarket, Mars supermarket and the new swanky Muscat grand mall are within walking distance. P.S.There is no alcohol allowed in the restaurant.

Room Tip: Chose the room which suits your need, avoid east facing rooms as the sun rises quite early here.

Where will start?
Useless staffs, terrible room service, lousy breakfast, expensive Internet, port quality rooms, it goes on and on.

The restaurant food sucks and stale.

The TV channels sucks and no useful channels. You need to be a rocket scientist to figure out a way to play with remote and switch on the TV! Finally you give up and then you call the reception for help with switching on TV,...... here you go....no body picks up....so you go downstairs and see the reception and whine about TV....she would look at you as if you are dumbest guy on earth....then someone will be sent after few more reminders, he would play with wires and multiple remotes and bingo the TV would start! Its all like magic!

You need extra towel, once again you need go for a battle....if you need water once again you need to battle with reception, room service, house keeping and a dozen staff....finally you succeed eventually by that time you could have gone out and fetched a bottle outside!

Just stay the hell out of this hotel..

A comfortable hotel hotel in this busy district of Muscat, but not a particularly good location for tourists. The hotel was clean and tidy. We only had breakfast at the hotel and we were disappointed with the quality and variety. Room was a good size. It has a nice pool on the roof which has a sunbathing area that is all screened off from other buildings. It has no bar selling alcohol and we were directed to another hotel nearby which did a have a bar. This proved to be a mistake as it was a complete dive and not suitable to take my wife to. We used the nearby Chedi hotel for drinks, but this was very expensive and not very welcoming, nor were the staff, who thought they could decide the size of tip by not returning my change, to add insult they argued with me and in the end returned my change. I should mention that the Chedi's bills have tax and tip added to the advertised price, so assuming a tip was not acceptable. Car parking at the the hotel was limited to a few spaces outside the hotel and when these are full parking becomes difficult. We found a number of good inexpensive restaurants close by and if you were prepared to eat in a local Arab restaurant a meal for 2 could be had for less than £8. Generally restaurants that served alcohol were hugely expensive.

Top tip go for a days diving, I can recommend either Euro Divers at the Marina, or Oman Diving Centre, the latter have there own beach, sun beds, pool, bar and restaurant, which even if you are not a diver is great, although they do charge an entry fee, about £7pp.

Stayed here for almost a month during 2010 -11 for business purpose. It was a comfortable stay. Hotel staffs were good. Food was excellent. Quite approachable. Very clean.

However as far as the price is concerned, you may have better choices in Muscat at similar tariff.

Room Tip: Ask for a bigger room as some of the rooms in the hotel are quite big
