Stayed for weekend, attended the Valentines party on the Friday night, which was fanastic value and had really good time. This is the fifth time I have stayed at the hotel either with my wife or in a golfing party and every time the standard has never slipped. Staff are very professional and friendly, food is of a very good quality and the portions take the breath away at times, rooms are always very comforatble and clean. All in all an excellent hotel which I shall be returning to again in May for a golfing weekend, and no doubt will be coming back with my wife just for a weekend away.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms overlooking golf course

Stayed for two nights during an introductory course. Pleasant staff that were helpful. Good conference facilities, good food, highly recommended for business or pleasure. Didn't use teh golfing facility but was impressed with club house and views of teh course from teh 19th hole. family run with keen eye on what works.

Thank you for leaving this kind review. We have become renowned for our food and I quite understand your comment about 'dieters stay away' - we don't do small portions at Greetham Valley! I hope you got chance to try our Black Rock Grill steaks while you were here? They are a fantastic piece of 'theatre in the dining room' and great fun too. Yes, Greetham Valley is indeed family owned and run but we could not do such a great job of welcoming all our guests so well without our fantastic team of staff.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Greetham Valley on a future date - maybe bring your golf clubs next time?

Easily accesible from the main north-south A1 trunk road between Grantham and Stamford, Greetham Valley can be thoroughly recommended. Despite my TomTom sat nav not recognising the postcode (LE15 7SN) it was really easy to find - just head into the village of Greetham and follow the signs to the golf course. There is ample parking space in the grounds and facilities to recharge electric cars in the spaces by Reception.

The hotel looks clean, smart and modern from the outside and gets even better on entering. Without exception, every member of staff we met was efficient, friendly and polite. Our room was on the ground floor which, as the hotel is built on the side of a valley, turned out to be on the first floor as well. Both the room and the en suite bathroom were spotlessly clean, immaculately decorated and HUGE!! Even with a bed seemingly larger than a king size there was plenty of room for us. (Extremely comfortable, too). Wonderful view through the full width window, too - golf course, woodland and three lakes. Along with the usual folder of information (very complete) there was a book of prize-winning photographs of the surrounding countryside that can be bought from Reception - I'm tempted to return just to purchase a copy.

We woke to the sound of blackbirds and magpies calling whilst rabbits hopped around the lake and even a fox trotting up the drive into the mist. The simple things in life are often the best. Breakfast was a choice of full English or continental, including cold meats and cheeses if desired.

Some hotels are OK, some are good. Greetham Valley is one of the best and easily made it onto our 'must visit again' list. The only downside we could find was that the TV seemed a little small, but that is a reflection on the size of the room rather than the TV. Much better to look out the window anyway!

Room Tip: Rooms 200 - 218 have the best view overlooking the golf course.

This was the second new year we have spent as a family (25 of us in 5 log cabins) at Greetham Valley Lodges. Again we had a fantastic 3 nights in these well equipped, comfortable lodges. The men in our party particularly enjoyed the golf and the gym; and the location allows for lovely family walks in the afternoon. The surrounding area is beautiful, we have found numerous great pubs for lunches and the town of Oakham is a real gem.
Needless to say we have already booked again for next new year!

I stayed in this hotel about 15 years ago whilst working in Stamford and stayed again earlier this week for a couple of nights. I have been in the area a few times in the intervening years but have used the Haycock at Wansford as it is marginally quicker to get into the part of Stamford I needed to be in from there. I had, however become disappointed with the Haycock. In my view the Greetham Valley is much better. I must admit Wansford is a very nice village but if you like the peace and quiet of the countryside the location of the Greetham Valley is unbeatable. It is a pleasure to open the bedroom curtains in a morning to such lovely view. The bedrooms themselves are quite large and tastefully furnished. I also like the fact that they are very light, unlike the ones I have stayed in at the Haycock which are quite dark, not helped by the horrendous mustard colour they are painted. The restaurant at Greetham Valley is also very good, the furniture is good quality and unlike the Haycock you won't need to take out a second mortgage on your home to be able to afford to eat there.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys a busy environment as it can be very quiet, especially in winter, However, if, like me you like the peace and quiet of the countryside and like the thought of staying in a good quality hotel in an isolated but relatively easy to get to location I am sure you will like it here.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your excellent review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the peace and quiet of a January stay - not many golfers about at this time of year!

We look forward to welcoming you back to Greetham Valley on your next visit to Stamford and the Rutland area.

We stayed here for a night in early Dec during what turned out to be the Xmas party weekend. The approach in the dark can seem a bit daunting, just follow the signage to golf course. The complex was obviously built on the farm land. Not a huge drama to find.

The views in the morning were very pleasant and it was very quiet when everybody was packing up from the parties upstairs. Room clean and shower warm. Breakfast was fresh and served in the club house area. Hotel is all linked up with the golfing side of the business. Staff friendly and efficient. Worth a stay if you are heading north or "doing" Rutland.

We stayed in one of the lodges as a party of 6 , we were attending a wedding in Stamford. The living area / kitchen is oplen plan with leather sofas , dining table and chairs , fridge/freezer , Ironing board , microwave and all utensils you need. Everything is really clean and modern. The surrounding lodges were occupied by golfers mainly and did not hear them at any point ! The lady that checked us in at the hotel reception was friendly enough. We had breakfast at the hotel bar which was very nice and reasonably priced. We would definitely return should we be needing accomodation in this area again , the cost split 6 ways is a total no brainer !

Room Tip: All odges appear to be identical , we were in lodge 3 and the higher balcony was cool !
