“Amazing captain and crew; experience of a lifetime”

Petit Pasage Whale Watch
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 23, 2013

What an experience! I will never forget this memory of a lifetime to celebrate my anniversary (July 16th). Captain Craig was so persistent that we would find some good whale watching. We went so far we could see New Brunswick. We saw many finback whales, some porpoises, 2 sea lions and best of all, a mother humpback (named Bungee) and her baby who put on a spectacular show for us. Our guides, Gayle and Suzanne were extremely knowledgeable and would yell out facts so everyone could hear. We ended up spending 5 hours on the boat, but it was so worth it. I would definitely recommend this whale watching crew. I was concerned that it wouldn't be as good as the ones on Brier Island, but we didn't have enough time to drive that far. My concerns were unwarranted. If you stop at the visitor center in Digby, they will call ahead for you and reserve a spot (you don't need a credit card to hold it). If you have one attraction to spend money on for your vacation, this is it.

Captain Craig and his crew, Suzanne and Gail, were fabulous. The captain's skill and persistence resulted in us seeing a mom and baby humpback up close, fin whales, minke whales, a seal, and porpoises. Suzanne and Gail provided information helped us spot the whales. It was a wonderful day that we will never forget. We highly recommend them for whale watching.

My husband and 3 daughters, ages 14, 11 and 8 went on a whale watching tour on Saturday, July 6th. It was a foggy morning and were a little worried we might not see much. After a 40 minute ride from the shores of East Ferry, Captain Craig shut the motor so we could listen for whales. We could barely see in front of us! It was only minutes before we could hear them in the distance. He quickly started the boat and headed in their direction. We were so lucky to find 2 adult humpbacks and a calf. Despite the fog, we got a close up view of them. Susanne, the guide, was a wealth of information and both she and the Captain were very friendly and professional. We couldn't believe our eyes when one of the whales breached out of the water twice! What a show... It was a wonderful experience for us all! Thank you to Captain Craig and Susanne.

Captain Craig and both crew members were a fountain of information on our trip today. The weather was great, we saw seals and 5 whales, in two separate locations. The Captain even circled around so we could see an ocean sun fish. Dress warmly as they advise you to, book early or reserve so you are not disappointed. This was recommended to us by the Harbourview Inn. We are so glad we went and you will be too.

My Aunts and I were very lucky to find out about this tour when we visited the Information Centre in Digby, NS. We only had to drive a little over half an hour for an amazing adventure. Crew member Suzanne was full of information on the whales, the ocean and the other animals we saw along the way. She took the time to sit with every person on the boat and answered our questions, she was super friendly, knowledgable and funny. Our Captain was very friendly and answered our questions too. When our 3 hour tour was supposed to end, he was rushing us off to the next whale sighting because he was more concerned about showing us all the whales he could and not watching the clock. We saw Humpback, Minke and Finback along with some dolphins, a seal and some birds. I think it's safe to say that everyone in our group had a great time! If you want to see whales, if you want to have a wonderful time...then take this tour!!!! Before you board for the trip, there is a cafe right there and you can pick up snacks...they make great muffins!!!
