“Money we'll spent”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

Booked a tour through our hotel. Cost was $145 per person plus tax. Add $20 for the guides at the zip line company, $20 for the driver, and add $30 for a photo cd for 2 people that shows your group, taking off and landing first zip line and leaving second zip line.
Now, for the experience, Jerry was our driver and it took a little over an hour from Old San Juan to get there. During the trip jerry had waters for us, he gave us interesting info about the areas, and culture of where we were driving. On the way back we stopped to take pictures of a magnificent waterfall. While we were zip lining, Jerry got us snacks, lunch and drinks. You definitely want to eat a protein breakfast before you go since you will not be eating for 4-5 hours and you probably don't want to eat, for fear of getting sick when zip lining. We did 1-8 and the beast which are tours 1 & 2. We were nervous for the first one. Make sure to lower your hands as you get close to the end. The break is a blue block - not what I expected it to look like, so I hurt one of my fingers, but am ok. The group we were with was friendly, and encouraged each other. The whole thing was exhilarating and so much fun. I recommend it highly. I am afraid of heights, but the safety of the equipment and staff was top notch. Even if one of the lines snaps, you are still attached to another one, making it,impossible for you to get hurt. Once you realize that you can relax, look down and marvel at the scenery. The tour and experience was worth every penny.

“Pretty Good Ziplining”
Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

I've done zip lining once before in West Virginia which was a truly awesome experience, and sadly this one didn't live up to it in every aspect. To start off, the tour guides barely give you any instructions on safety. This is partly because this zip lining tour has installed wooden blocks at the end of the zip lines to break for you so you don't have to worry about learning how to break yourself. But still, the guy spent one or two sentences just barely communicating safety rules...

I was also disappointed that we weren't zip lining between forests of trees like in WV, but from barren cliff side to barren cliff side. There was little shade or trees and it was terribly unbearably hot.

“Best Zip Lining you can do”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

great staff and zip lines of great quality. there is some extended waiting around when getting picked up from hotels and dropped off. lunch they offer is sandwiches. you end up eating lunch around 230 pm so eat up at breakfast or bring a granola bar with you. the BEAST zipline is a little over rated. second longest zip line the the world but traveling face down , you do not get to see much, hard to hold your head up to see in front of you. Of the 8 zipline tour, zipline #8 was the best.

“A great way to view Puerto Rico”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

My 12 year-old son and I did the 8 zip line tour. (He was about 10 lbs too light for La Bestia). I was worried that not being able to do the Beast would leave us disappointed. Wrong. The 8 zip lines were great! The view is fantastic and, unlike some zip line tours, none of the 8 are little 'training zip lines.' Zip #1 was high and fast and fun!
I was very impressed with the safety practices. The staff attach and detach all equipment and no one goes down the zip line until the previous person has reached the next platform. Even more impressive, each zip line is actually two independent steel cables. So, even in the extremely unlikely event that a cable should break (we were told that they're each rated for 10,000 lbs) you're still attached to a second cable.
(When you're hundreds of feet above the ground, this is a comforting thought.)
My only suggestion would be to ensure that all staff are bi-lingual and can speak English. Our tour guides had only a limited English vocabulary, but it really wasn't a problem.
For those who aren't familiar with the roads in the mountainous area of Puerto Rico the drive to the facility can be a little exciting as well. Sharp hairpin turns up and down on a road that can barely fit two vehicles. It was fun, but it helps if you have a car that has an auto/manual transmission as i would frequently shift between 1st and 2nd gear.
