We stopped for lunch on a summers day with our foodie French friends and sat at the front of the pub on the 'main' road,as the village has a bypass there was only a few vehicles passing. The friendly barmaid took our order from the lunch menu and served us at the table helpfully bringing extra condiments. Two had the burger and two the fish and chips all was delicious and freshly prepared, we would reccommend a visit and hope to return to sample the evening menu - am still wishing I'd had room for the Rhubarb Cheesecake! There was a jolly atmosphere and welcoming feeling to this gem of a British pub.

my first visit to the star Inn, but what a great experience. we went with friends, staff were very friendly, food was superb and relatively inexpensive. The cheese board had some of the best cheese i have tasted in England.
To top the evening the live band was first class, The Mustangs.

We eat regularly at The Star, we are always impressed with the high quality food. Not too fussy, just completely delish! From the burger to the outstanding taster menu, all ingredients are carefully locally sourced and completely seasonal. Try the british cheese board it's a real treat.

We are always made to feel welcome and the food is delicious! Not pretentious in any way, unlike the Anchor down the road, therefore feeling like a proper pub where locals can meet up with the addition of excellent food.

We had dinner on Friday night: it is a pub so it was very busy, maybe a little too loud, but the food and service more than compensated for the noise. Te menu is limited, but so many good and unusual choices. Food is organic and very high quality, presented nicely on the plates. service outstanding, especially given the limited number of staff we could see on a busy night. There are only a handful of tables, so booking is a must. We will be back and I really want to try the tasting menu :-)
