“nice rooms and surroundings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

We spent 3 nights in this hotel which was a 30 minutes drive along a winding road from the main road. The room is very modern (albeit a bit small) and the view from the bath tub is quite nice. At 600+ metres above sea level, the location gets quite humid at night. The worst thing about this hotel is that your dining options are very limited, either eat at the hotel which has a set menu at night or drive to town which doesn't have many choices either. There is also no room service. However, the breakfast buffet is quite good. This hotel is best for those after relaxation but not suitable for those who will be engaging in activities (such as paragilding) which have early departures from the west coast of Reunion as the drive to the west coast takes 2+ hours.

Room Tip: The hotel is designed such that all rooms face the same direction - the ocean - so there is no best...

We spent two night at this hotel during a tour of La Reunion. As recommended we left our car outside the gate and rang for collection by their 4x4 which came promptly. Our welcome was warm, the hotel very comfortable with stunning views down to the Indian Ocean and the food was classy and exhibited a mix of international and creole cooking. The charming Maitre D' who had worked in Ireland keen to use his English, and was most helpful. .They have a small but very adequate swimming pool which we enjoyed, as we did the whole stay.(The only negative comment would relate to the hand-held shower over the bath) Thoroughly recommended.

Un accueil chaleureux, Notre chambre était tres confortable avec une vue superbe vers la côte, et la cuisine était superbe avec une fusion européenne et créole. Cet hôtel est vivement recommandé.

Having arrived after a 14 hour trip, we were hoping for comfort and we were pleasantly surprised. Arriving to the lodge is not difficult but different. You do climb a little and they do advise if you'd prefer not to drive your car once you are within theLodge grounds, then they will collect you. We decided to drive, but slowly which we do advise as the cars that you tend to be given from the airport are usually low and always white!

Reception are very pleasant, in fact the whole of the staff are the same. We were shown to a lovely large room with a bath on one side, with sink and mirrlor and a large bed on another. You had a view looking down as far as the eye could see down the mountain.

The Lodge also has a infinity pool which we took advantage one morning before breakfast, which may I add is quite substantial. Various breads, pastries, cooked food iescrambled eggs, yogurts, juices, dried fruits, etc. Dinner is also delicious, with a great choice of wines.

The staff are most helpful with what to do on the island, of which we took advice and climbed Le Petit de La Fournaise (volcano) on our own.

All in all we had the most enjoyable and comfortable stay at this Lodge, which we would highly recommend! In comparison to another 4* Hotel we stayed in, we did prefer this venue!

We absolutely loved this hotel and couldn't recommend it highly enough. The location is beautiful! A little remote but that's part of its charm. The rooms are well appointed with great views out to sea. The service was absolutely delightful, everyone we met was so friendly and helpful without exception. The food is fantastic and the spa offers an excellent massage. A really special treat, didn't want to leave!

excellent little hotel in the middle of nowhere (close to sainte Anne) to feel comfortable and relax. great pool, small but excellentnspa, staff is very helpful and restaurant is great, too.
the pool table is a little bit small and there is no wi-fi in the rooms, but who cares, the idea is to disconnect! great hotel!

Room Tip: all rooms have a great view on the Indian Ocean
