This is a gem for kids and their parents. You can take various train rides, especially in the summer, and go inside trains and locomotives. Simply great!

“Interesting small museum”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

Visit on a Saturday morning when it is pay as you wish. Maybe we were expecting more from all the hyped up reviews but the train museum is actually pretty small. There are 10-12 trains in the hanger-like museums and a small train model room.
There is also a actual train shuttle running which was swamped with kids on the day we visit.
This is great for a 1-2 hour visit but I will feel ripped off if I paid the actual admission price.

“For kids or older people, not so interesting for people in between”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

I visited the museum a few weeks ago. There are trains from all different eras and guided tours are available. The guide we had was very knowledgeable. You could also go outside and ride a Tramway or train and the driver would give you information about these vehicles and eras as well. My only problem is that I find it is good for children who love trains or older people. All the jokes the guides made were relating the older generation to the trains. They laughed but the 20-55 year olds did not. Overall I think its a good family activity to do but not for a young couple. Also I found that 20$ which is the adult price is expensive for this museum. They had good priced family packages and year round passes available though which would be good for families or people that would want to come more then once.

“Good, but nothing great”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

Unless you are into trains, don't bother. Even for kids.. The only attraction we liked in this place was the mini train, but that is nothing but an extended version of the train in the malls and arcades where even adults can sit. Other than that, they have a movie about trains.. nothing but a movie of all the places the trains go. Lots of old engine replicas and some good old engines.. But this place is so far away from montreal (30 minutes) that it is lot of waste of time unless you are into trains...

“If Any of You Love Trains”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

In addition to the trains and street cars, lots of pieces of history, like the school car that made a circuit, educating children and adults in the farm country, and the locomotive that pulled the King's train. Much more than you can see in a day. Stay away from the Greek restaurant across the street. Food's okay. People are hostile.
