Authentic Cretan food, with natural products at a homey atmosphere next to the fireplace.

Manolis & his wife are cooking at a wood oven just as if it is for their guests at home.

We will surely come back during summer as the view is amazing....

Well done!!!

We had a fantastic lunch at this Taverna. The food is simple, authentic Greek cuisine cooked perfectly. The host was exceptional and made us feel so welcome. The views of the mountains and the valley were breathtaking.

Sit down here and enjoy the view! The people working here are very friendly and the view is one of the best I've seen while enjoying a glass of home made wine and good mezes.

There are a lot of things to do at this place, such as helping pick grapes and hiking up the mountain.

We spent 22 euros on wine and a very big lunch of 4 dishes and tzatziki (too big perhaps). We definitely recommend this place!

Authentically Cretan, generous quantities, mostly from the farm. Dinner eaten together with host presiding any many toasts drunk.

You'll need a car to get here but if you're touring Crete or just want a few days away from the hordes of tourists - here's your answer. It almost defined the Cretan tradition of hospitality. fantastic views, good food, lovely local produce which they sell & make their menu from. Free parking and some unusual excursions - if you're their at the right time. How about a guided moonlight walk to the summit of the local mountain on the next full moon - not my thing, but you don't get that offered by Shazza & Wayne spotty reps for 'suntours' do you? There is also a great feel in the village. Mel (I think that was what she called herself) will come out of her little cafe & show you the incredible frescoes in the 14th Cent chapel for free (couple of euros in the offering box is welcome but better than Knossos in my opinion) & then serve you Greek coffee, homemade cheese & sweet bread (like brioche) in the cafe. She'll probably try to sell you embroidery, olive oil, honey or any number of local produce too - but there's no problem saying no.
Fabulous place.
