We have lived just up the road from The Belper for 18 months and have never needed to go anywhere else weather drinking, out for a meal on a cold day or a night with friends. The menu is varied and very well priced, the food most of the time is great but about 1 in 10 times its terrible which can be annoying.
Also people eating are first put on the tables in the bar making it cramped and the nicer restaurant is only used when its too full, the restaurant should be filled with people eating before th bar.
If you want a steak and a beer on a Friday night after work though I can't recommend it enough, it's always really friendly as well with lovely people running the place.

We visit the Belper arms quite regularly and the menu is always extensive and varied. Food is freshly cooked which accounts for the service occasionally being a bit on the slow side but the quality never fails. The surroundings are relaxing, the tables can be a bit wobbly but that all adds to the charm of this delightful pub restaurant. There are some great local characters and it is always a really good evening there, guaranteed to leave you feeling better when you leave than when you arrived.

A groupon offer took 4 of us to the Belper Arms for a meal and what a treat it was. The pub is in a quiet country village and the interior reflects this with plenty of traditional features including log fires. The resturant is cosy but simply furnished which is in keeping with the pubs character. The 3 course meal we all had was excellent quality and well cooked and presented (served on hot plates) the selection of starter, main & sweet is varied and caters for all tastes, service was good, efficient and friendly. The bar offers a good selection of beers (with some guest ales to sample) , wines and spirits.
All in all an very pleasant visit and one to look forward to returning to.

Six of us enjoyed a good lunch at the Belper in front of a warm fire on a cold miserable day. The service was excellent and we enjoyed good quality pub food. The wines were also good and sensibly priced. This is a charming traditional country pub well worth a visit.

We visit this pub frequently on pie nights and steak nights, the food is okay, But the staff make up for it and are always extremely helpful, And always serve us with a smile, The atmosphere would be much more welcoming if they had music on in the background!
