“Return visit to once again a great meal & service.”

Attentive staff. Joe behind the bar was friendly & efficient. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium & it was, to perfection. The four of us throughly enjoyed the meal & the Merlot house wine was splendid!

“A lovely pub with good food”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We always enjoy coming here. The food is delicious, the beer is good and it's lovely, warm and cosy inside. There's a restaurant, but book to get a table in the pub area as we find it more inviting...especially with the log fire going on a cold winter's night.

“Warm welcome in fine country pub”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

Great pub, good food and warm welcome. Mid week lunch in front of open fire was a delight. Beef cheek casserole better than Walnut Tree which has Michelin rosette! Recommended

“A superb day in the country”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

A warm welcome greeted us on arrival- and nothing is better than a real log fire on a cold December day! The meal involved several varied dishes, but all were well prepared, and the hostess remembered dietery problems and dealt with them efficiently.
The beef pie was a real treat- and those chips! Real hunks of tasty potato. Not expensive for what was involved. We will be back!
