Getting to the far corner of the eastern coast was a nice leisurely 4hour drive from Kandy, if not for the omnipresent traffic police you could easily shave an hour off that drive.
The location is off a picture book, fabulously wide white sandy beach, calm shallow warm waters.....
Once you arrive, you are welcomed by a friendly crew, many of whom are from the vicinity...and that adds to the authenticity of the place. What strikes from the monument you enter the property is that they have stayed true to the concept of a coastal fishing village from the greeting, to the architecture and decor, the uniforms and to me the best about it was the open bar on a boat next to the pool. The rooms were fabulous,a couple of us stayed in rooms separated by a private pool, the family rooms had extra beds in the attic, great detail seems to have gone into planning the place. Most importantly cleanliness was maintained in every Nook and corner of the property.
The spread at the buffet was quite diverse well laid out and tasty. It was a good touch to have the chefs talking to the guest during dinner taking the Cue from the very friendly hotel staff More
