Dikenchik gets five stars. The extraordinarily warm and gracious hospitality of its owners, Ayşe and Cengiz Genç, combined with the comfort of the accommodations here, leave us no other option. In fact, five stars seem insufficient for this Shangri-La. My wife and I initially intended to stay three nights at Dikenchik in late September, 2013 but we extended our stay because we were so happy here. The nights were cool but we were warm and very comfortable in one of the Inn's lovely houses. More than a mere cottage, it offered a spacious bedroom, a large and tastefully appointed living room with fireplace and high ceiling, plus a well equipped kitchen. Outside the living room was a lovely porch with chairs and table; the perfect place to sip a glass of wine and view some beautiful mountain scenery. Ayşe is a highly accomplished cook who prepares delicious meals including breakfast and, at guests' option, lunch and dinner as well. Ingredients for her sumptuous dishes come from Dikenchik's own garden and animals, or are sourced at the local village bazaar. A churl might be tempted to dock Dikenchik because of its rather remote location. That would be grossly unfair since the website makes it perfectly clear that the property is located well up in the mountains some 20 minutes away from Fethiye. If you seek a restful experience amidst wonderful people and lovely scenery, do yourself a favor and stay a while at Dikenchik.

Room Tip: We preferred the ground floor suite in the cottage a short distance away from the Inn headquarters.

We simply loved to stay a little while in this marvellous nature retreat in the middle of the forest and with an astonishingly beautiful view of the mountains. We will never forget this so special treat, coming from the heart of Ayse and Cengiz. We were traveling with our 4 year old child and for him too this experience was a memorable one. So friendly, hospital and lovely people; characteristics we found throughout this trip in Turkey and which peaked at the Dikencik's home, where we also felt at home. THANK YOU.

I was looking for a quiet place to spend a few days and i started searching alternative places neraby Fethiye and Dalaman airport. I found this hidden jewel in Dikencik. After a few hours arriving the place, I realized this is an amazing place, run by amazing couple Ayse and Cengiz, 2 fantastic villas, stone architecture, middle of the nature, tranquil, with a pool, and full of pine trees with aromas. The food is the best that I have ever tasted! Every meal was a unique experience that I took pictures of every meal I had:) Ayse and Cengiz have neighbor called Sylvie who is French and speaks fluent Turkish. I said to them the unique taste may come from a mix Turkish and
French fusion:) I gurantee you that you would have a great experience staying and dining at this cottage that you would never experience before!

We had the most wonderful and relaxing time at Dikencik Cottages. Ayse and Cengiz seemed more like family than hosts by the time we departed. They were so friendly, helpful, generous and informative. The cottages and the gardens are really products of their labour of love and thoughtful personal touches are found in the smallest of details. Not to mention the scenic forests and the gorgeous mountain views around Dikencik. It is truly blessed with beautiful nature plus the comforts of living. The food prepared by Ayse was sumptuous and healthily organic, from their garden. A Dikencik holiday is one to be remembered fondly and one to be enjoyed again and again - we shall surely return!

From the moment we arrived to when we reluctantly departed Ayse and Cengiz were absolutely wonderful hosts . On arrival one evening we were ushered to the cottage where dinner had been laid out for us , a fire was lit and the bags taken to our charming room . The food throughout our stay was exceptional , made with fresh local ingredients straight form the garden , the traditional Turkish food cooked by Ayse . The environment at Dikincek is so lovely we really didn't go far , save for a couple of walks in the Turkish countryside and a trip to the local village for a haircut/shave ( Ramazan ) and a Turkish tea in the square with the locals .
Breakfast was served to us in different locations so we could take in the lovely views , the pool was lovely and refreshing after our walks .
You did feel like a family friend staying at Dikincek , we will be back again I am sure !

Room Tip: We stayed in the cottage , upstairs room which was lovely .

From the moment we arrived and were plied with coffee and cake, to the final delicious breakfast, we felt we were in a lovely home. Ayse and Cengiz are wonderful to be with, whether it is talking about food preparation, wild orchids (they have 25 different species on their land) or the issues in the local community.
The location is amazing. In the morning there was literally no sound except birds and the odd distant goat bell. We go to Turkey regularly and will be trying to include a stay here on every visit!

Thank you Ayşe and Cengiz for another delightful short stay.
Dikencik Cottages and the nearby village of Yeşiluzumlu are both wonderful Turkish gems. The mixture of clean air, natural habitat and home grown foods are indeed a tonic. We will return again and again....
